Precise ELA Telescoping Mod by Super-T!

So we should identify the cause.
My two ELAs were widely separated in time. I believe my first post is the one which has the problem screwing in to the new cap. Is your and vaptamist's ELAs newer or older ones? Maybe some slight change happened along the way.
I think this is what I'm going to do. Since my older satin ELA is the one with the apparent cap/post issue as well as an issue with newer lower accent ring fit, I'm going to send it (and the newer parts) in to David for an examination.

Well I bought mine from the classies, but I know it comes from C9V, so that probably is an old one (a year or so?) Damn that's a pity cause I like the look of that solid cap, no gap at all with a kayfun. I guess I'll just live without it, I'm not too kind on sending it back from across the pond. The Strata will be glued there as soon as it arrives anyway

Im have that problem also. I think it varies. SOme use the Kick2 all the time with no problems . Im thinking it might me the actual Kick, some work better than others?

I'm using a Kick 2 in my ELA. No problems except when I tried to push one out. Tried to just shove it out and broke one of the ground pins. That one is now in my Legacy.
I'm still using the Kick 1 in my P + units. No problems with any of them
(And I like my kicks. I use all sorts of juice devices.).

I'll take responsibility for the other 50% of the disruption. I did not intend for my comments to disparage other's ideas and apologize to Idaholandho and the masses for my part in fueling this disagreement. I know I can be over analytical, being a career engineer will do that to a guy. Going forward I will make every effort to keep my comments more neutral and leave any technical biases out of the equation.

One thing we can say is we are all VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT OUR ELA's!
As Cucco says "It's all good!" We have a great group here that I'm proud to be a part of, peace and good will to all.

I guess I need to try mine. I have not tried any of them yet.

My ELA was from the end of May. I ordered three top caps, one satin and two polished. All work fine.

One older satin ELA with its stock cap and original pin.
Two newer lower accent rings which do not fit on this older satin ELA, but do fit on my newer polished ELA. The only lower accent ring which fits my satin ELA is the brass one which came with it. The brass ring also fits my newer ELA.
One new flat cap. The center pin of my older ELA only fits the stock cap of the satin ELA with which it came; it does not fit in any other cap, new or old. Does that all make sense?
So I need David to determine why the lower rings won't fit my older ELA (but do fit my newer), and why the center post won't fit my newer caps.

It'll be in the mail today.

No, for the ELA all work has been done on the new machine.

Never imagined, there would be a problem. It's David. But, stuff happens. When I had a machine shop, stuff happened. It's all good!

Maybe a better way to put it is a slight incompatibility between older and newer parts. We'll see. I'm off to the post office.
