Okay, switched out the springs and now it is better. I guess if the spring is compressed too short it affects it? I was having to press so hard that it was loosening up the locking ring? I might have to buy new springs. Springs are out of stock....... dang.

I have to ask, are the OEM springs anything special? Is there anywhere else to get some springs , I just want to be sure its the springs.

I have spare springs and spare HD springs coming in Thursday:)

Springs will be in stock on thurs, I hope I get a chance to get some. I need at least 3 reg and want to get a couple HD.

My misfires problems is definitely button related and I suspect the springs because I will get no contact, turn the button a bit and wallah, works perfectly for a while till button turns. I thing the spring is either crooked or mishapen and somehow keeping the button from making contact . THen I have to press so hard that I loosen up my locking ring.

Darn, just saw the price, 6 each......

I hate to post this here but wanted to give someone here first crack and this is one of the more popular threads here:

I just wanted to post that I will be listing my Ti 18500 w. add 18350 ti satin tube, and ss/brass lock ring here in about an hour or so. There will also be a few other super T items among others listed as well.

I do not want to get into details but This was more of an impulse buy and I have higher priorities going on righ now. I would like to pass my items long to someone that missed out and will give these items a better life.

Well worth it Chorn. An ELA is just heads and shoulders above any device I've ever seen.

Thats what I hear! I used to drool over the Precise P18 back in the day... but was still in college and couldnt afford it. I guess it was 2010? Anyway, times have changed : )

Subjective Question, do you think the Precise ELA ...

1. Although popular here, technically will not achieve true unicorn status when viewed across all PV products being offered?
2. Will achieve unicorn status at some point after all pre-orders are filled due to its' popularity, uniqueness and limited quantity?
3. Has achieved unicorn status now due to its' popularity, uniqueness and limited quantity even though the pre-orders are not quite completed?

Try to remove your bias as an owner if you can and look at it from the perspective of supply and demand against all PV products available. It's easy to say yes in our little world, but we are small fish in a large pond when you consider what else is out there.

Hey anavidfan,
I do not think it is the spring causing this I have had this happen too.I took mine apart and noticed my battery negative end,the bottom button post is cutting into each battery I use and I think this is causing the mis firing sometimes. That post in the button has sharp edges and has cut a circular pattern into each battery I use.

An interesting question I guess, but I admit I really don't care one way or the other. I get my devices because they are quality, not because some random group of individuals on the Internet have come together and decided its "in" or "out".

I also think the term unicorn is as overused as the phrase "hits like a truck" or "blowing massive cloudssssss".

I just like, what I like. If a tool is built to my 'quality' standards, I will buy it (with backups) to last me until the end of time. If, I am convinced another tool is built to my 'quality' standards and will do the job better, then, I may buy it (with backups) to last me until the end of time.

Have I mentioned lately, how much I love my ELA? :)

t8kiteasy has a good point that I've seen on some batteries, depending on brand, some of them literally have thin metal plating over plastic, which once that plating wears through to the plastic, you get inconsistent/no firing. It's usually on protected batteries that you see that metal plated plastic, but maybe it's on some IMR brands too that I'm not aware of. Something to check for and easy to test, just replace with a new battery and see if it cures it!

I've seen the term used when someone got a nemesis, but I think it's really more appropriate when it's used to describe something REALLY rare, like less than 10 were made.

I'm sure a lot of people would call the Caravela their unicorn, when in reality there's probably 2 or 3 thousand of them out there between regular production units, spares and "special editions" with non standard engraving.
