I personally don't use either one. I only got into mods so I could go unregulated.
There's a whole thread on that though...

I'm with you.

I've never understood the use of a kick myself. Either go with a VV/VW device, or build a coil to suit your mechanical's voltage. A kick seems to defeat the purpose of going mechanical. Maybe I'm missing something???

Many people, such as myself, appreciate the build quality and design of some high end mech mods and choose to vape regulated occasionally. My 2 Provari Minis can get old, at times.

My ELA, 2 Nemesis, SS GP PAPS 2.5, SS Chi You, will all at some point, see a Kick.

For me it was a great choice. I dont like all the electronics and especially the LED windows. I also dont like the buttons etc.

I like the fact that a mechanical basically is brainless, less things to go wrong, you can drop it in water and you dry it off and it keeps going. Mechanicals are usually better built and have the adjustability as in the center posts etc.

I have the choice and versatility of a mechanical with the constant power.

Pretty sure it was $220
That was a long time ago! Hard to remember isn't it?
I keep hanging around this thread with not much to contribute while I wait, but that $440 or so was the hands down best investment I ever made in vaping, *not* considering the return I could get on them.
Come on ELA!

I'm in complete agreement with you on appreciating the build quality of mechs. My GGTS, 69, Noble, Zenesis, ELA and Gus are just wonderful. But if I want to regulate my voltage, I'll just use one of my Provaris.

I understand and can appreciate your preferences completely. No worries or confusion, here.

I never thought i would get used to using a bottom button mod. I have always used things like a provari, gg, ego etc but when i got the gp paps it was a bit learning curve especially for placing them down on the table. Slowly though i have gotten used to it and even have my pinky resting at the bottom of mods that dont have a button down there. The shockwave looks great and i think i would like it bar the sheer size of the thing. If David made another top button mod i would certainly pick it up as long as it came with and 18350 or 18500 option.

Ya I guess since I started with a provari and a zmax I've had all the regulation I want. The mod is so I can throw a 0.7 or 0.8 coil on there and get all the power I can to it.

It's really not that large considering what battery it has in it - its about the size of a silver bullet, but sleeker.

You know what Id like to see? I love it if just the little part of the safety switch that slips back and forth, with the letter "P" came in brass. It would look beautiful and I would assume it would be less expensive than a whole button, I think? Doesnt the whole button have to be made with the rhodium contact?

I also cant wait till extra parts for ELA are available, such as the center pin or top cap accent part , also in brass would look pretty.

I know these parts would wear faster but they would be nice just to have for special occasions.

I missed out too and have been stalking the site for em. I almost missed out ordering the stainless set of rings to complete my full set, but I did miss out on the darn 18650 kick extension which i'm kicking myself for lol.
David - any chance on some more Brass Buttons... i want one for my ELA.... i missed it last time..

Yeah, Im glad I got the extension ring because I notice that when using the kick in 18500 mode, the locking ring falls right smack on the middle and doesnt make a tight fit with reg tube, it starts to slip.

I thought I didnt need it if I didnt use 18650 batteries and the kick, but Im glad I got it.

Contact David and see if he has any extras, just in case.
