so apparently my order has finally shipped for my ELA, does anyone know if I will get an email with tracking or will it be updated on my account on super-t's website?

You should get an email with tracking info. Be prepared for a bit of a wait until it actually gets moving through the system as David puts the final touches to your ELA before it gets put in the package and delivered to the post office...

Hmmm, the Dark Night vehicles in the HOT TOYS brand is going to be hard to find and hard on the wallet, like I said its big and lights up, etc and the scale is going to match the size of the 12" Batman.

If your are wanting vehicles from the standard batman (Mattel) figures, 6" ones from the 80s then EBay is a good place to start.

How about them? I think they're spectacular :D The brushed finish on the smooth top accent ring looks great

Just unboxed a few minutes ago and threw my Ithaka on top since there were a lot of requests for that combo a little while ago

awesome setup!! I have a question, I can't quite tell from the pics (which might just answer my question) but I know the Ithaka is polished but the polished ELA is not super shiny, are they a bit different? would you say it's more brushed or polished (the ELA I mean).

the reason I ask is because I am deciding on buying either the Ithaka or the Hercules based on that. oh, and from the research I've done, I'm willing to risk the Hercules being a knock-off, so I'm just looking purely at the cosmetic point (shallow, I know )

close-ups of the two side by side would be awesome if possible :)

can't wait to get my ELA (ordered polished with brass accent rings) and Ithaka/Hercules :(

thanks!!

Odd ball question here..

I know the ELA is a heavy .... but I have a friend with a Roller and today I played with it a little.. Not a bad little PV but certainly NOT an ELA..

So now my Q.. I have never held and ELA but the Roller was about right to me in the heft department. I *think* the ELA is twice as heavy as the Roller???????

Anyone have both and can compare the heft?

Just trying to get a feel for the weight and size of the ELA..

Thanks!

The ELA is easily twice as heavy as the roller, and a little bigger,I don't have scales handy, but it feels that way.
But,there is no plastic in the ELA,and I ain't a fan of the contact pin in the button on the roller(I think its too small, but what do I know)

Conclusion: The ELA will seem about twice as right in the heft department, and I honestly believe that's how you'll feel once you hold it.

Ya he was trying to sell me the Roller because he went back to smoking.. 8-o

I might just buy it to hold me over until my ELA arrives.. I figure I have 3 or 4 months of waiting so a new toy to play with *could* help pass the time..

If you go back a few pages,(actually quite a few, mid june?) a member ;VCoupe, posted some comparative picts of his Roller and ELA. If your buddy sells you his roller at a good price it will definitely hold you over. ITs a very nice and well made PV.

Now as far as the big differences in weight and size, how can I explain, though ELA is heavier, its somehow just more ergonomic? Dont know if thats a good explanation, but somehow it just feels right. I think the only complaints on the feel of ELA is that depending on how you hold it, some find their finger ends up being right on top of the accent ring and it feels a bit sharp if you happen to rest you finger on the top ridge.

I believe Snork mentioned you can turn your accent around and then the edge is smooth or you can lightly polish the edge for smooth feel yet not visibly different finish.

Even at full kicked 18650 the ELA feels so nice in your hand. I use it in 18500 and 18350 most of the time, it just looks its best and feels so nice.

The Ithaka is definitely a noticeably higher polish than the ELA. ELA is more of a brushed finish, but it's a very light "brush" to it, just enough to not be a fingerprint magnet. I'll try to get a side-by-side pic to show the difference better, but it's overcast right now and the lighting in here isn't great. Be back in a few . . .

Here is the comparison (pardon the cat hair, didn't see that until after taking the pic). Not enough light in here to show the difference as well as you see it in person

ana's comparison pic above is a better indicator of the difference in finish. I like Super T's polished finish better since it doesn't require as much maintenance and doesn't show every little ding/blemish/fingerprint :)

Killjoys pict is great and like he said, the finish on the ELA is so much more forgiving than the GG finish. It nearly impossible to actually use your GG devices in like new condition. I got a part in a couple days ago and it already has hairline scratches and thats just unpacking it and trying it out.

My ELA gets daily use, day and night and it barely shows any wear. Im trying to treat it gently, but Im rough on my devices.

Thanks! It's the SS-M version and in brand new condition. I think he just got it 2 weeks ago. He wants $125 for it but I think I could snag it for $100..

I might just snarf it up and see. If I don't like it, I could always just sell it..

At least this way I will have some 18650 batteries on hand for when my ELA arrives! :)

Hey David,

I got in on the ELA preorder (order # 16456 ELA with brass accent rings) but when I ordered I didn't realize the accent rings were interchangeable. When I went back a few days later they were out of stock. From what I can gather you will eventually be making more ELA's & more accent rings? I would like to order a set of the stainless accent rings but can wait until they are back in stock. Possibly two sets as someone mentioned that two of the top rings will fit in 18650 mode. Just ordered a Simplicity today along with a T-Tip so I can chill until ELA arrives. Thank you so much for making what are beautifully artistic, yet highly functional, top notch products.

Duncan I agree with your assessment of this product, you won't be disappointed.

Also, the accent rings can now be ordered again on the Super T site...

I just dug watching Batman movie where Cat Woman ( i think) drove the B mobile... or was that Robin... Did the story end setting up a sequel for Robin, in the Batmobile?
I mean they leave it up to your own deductions... great movie...
(where that lady was the little girl that climbed out of the dungeon... came back to avenge her evil father)

Well, I did the mother of all stupid things you can do. I just finished filling by Ody and set ELA in my PV holder. I always put the safety on as I know the bottom on holder is not level. Well I didnt.

Came back at least 45 minutes later and it was HOT. I calmly freaked out and let it cool. It was covered in juice. Took it into the bathroom and carefully took it apart. First thing that impressed me was that the poly clear tank on Ody was not even soft. Took it apart and not even the o-rings were melted and wick and coil were clean as can be.

Next attended to ELA, again washed it off after I took the the battery out. Battery was also in great shape, no bubbles , swelling, no hot electric smell. Put it all back together, popped a newly charged battery and all is perfection. I think the fact that it was full of juice and that I had a 1.7 ohm set up helped.

I just cant believe that after an hour of firing , nothing melted. THank goodness I was not even Kicked or Crowned.

Good quality is good.
