Just so you all know my sub ohm coil experiment is over.... I ran the 0.8 ohm HH on my Shockwave. it drew so many amps that even a big 26650 battery would heat up.. The Shockwave body would stay warm for a good half hour after using it... I am now am back to a 1.5 ohm HH and the body does not get warm at all... 0.8 draws way to many amps for my liking!

I have my 1.5 ohm HH's ready and waiting for my ELA! :)

Are you chain-vaping hard? I've never had a battery get warm from 0.8ohm setups ever.

So say with a 18650 battery (no kick) running a 1.2ohm setup, its a good hittin vape? I always thought anything over 1.0ohm id hardly get any flavor or vape unless i kicked it

The most important thing to consider is the temperature of the coil. I wrap my coils 1.8 - 2 ohm. On unregulated power, they rock with rich, saturated flavor, thick vapor, and good TH (depending on a well-balanced saturation of my wick, of course). But I'm using 34 gauge Kanthal. To get the same taste using 32 gauge I'd have to go 1.5 ohm. 30 gauge, closer to 1 ohm. Thinner gauge res wire burns hotter.

I prefer 34 gauge for a few reasons. Since it's thinner, it's less springy and much easier to wrap and manage. A coil wrapped with 34 gauge seems to stay fresh tasting for an extra day or two as compared to 32 gauge. And it just initially tastes better as well. Finally, higher resistance = lower wattage and lower amperage; therefore, longer battery life between charges.

But ultimately, it's all about the taste for me. I wish I could give you guys a taste of this vape. It is absolutely deliciously cakey. With every draw I take it's like I've just taken a bite of warm coconut yellow cupcake.

I think you have to factor in that a chunky RBA made out of stainless steel is going to heatsink a lot better than a coil with a small paper thin mystery metal tube. I think it's offloading that heat into the PV itself. I know my 1.5 ohm 510 atomizers get hot quick when I chain vape. 0.8 ohm would be even hotter.

Hey guys. Has anyone had any misfiring issues with their ela? Each time i press it fires in a half assed way like its not making full contact, then i move my finger around the button trying to find a good spot to have it fire completely. Sometimes it wont even fire at all until i find a spot which is basically different each time. I have taken it apart and retightened eveything down and it still happens. This never happened before until 2 weeks ago

Maybe its time to take it apart and clean ELA, when I did, I found the button was very dirty and the inside of the tube too. I cant think of a reason the button would act like that unless maybe something is dirty?

I hope someone will chime in soon and offer a better reason:)

BTW, are you using a KICK? that happens when I use a kick in mine, seems as time goes by when I use the Kick, the button becomes resistant and I have to press harder and I get it behaving like that.

Yep, the button itself and the interior of the end cap can get dirty. A little soap and water might do wonders. Also make sure the rhodium post is screwed in tight.

Just wipe your battery contacts and the rhodium plated contacts with a soft cloth or paper towel. Sounds like its just a little dirty.

With 34 gauge I do 2 wraps over 3 around a single strand of 3mm silica. With 32 it's been a while so I'm not entirely confident that I remember. It's either the same or 3 over 4. Seems like I have to kick or crown 3/4 if I recall correctly.

Tastyvapor.us cupcake with coconut and vanilla custard wins. And with their doublers you can save some money by getting high mg nic juice and cutting it with 0mg of the same flavor.

I've recently started trying diy but mine isn't as good as tastyvapor's. I'm going to keep at it though.

I'm getting that to...I don't know about you, but I just got mine and it was one of those where he ran out of that rhodium thing and will be sending it soon...I'm hoping that's the problem...

Panic buying is my excuse. Since january I have purchased the ELA, p+16, p+10, P+18650, p+18500, simplicity 14500, p+18350. That is just the mods I have purchased at super T not counting tips batteries or anything else. Nor does it count the atties I have purchased elsewhere.

Wow. Should we be considering an 'intervention'? :)

Saw this in the AM before leaving for work. Clearly I was unaware of the magnitude of the problem. Also thought Cucco’s suggestion for an Intervention was spot on ... for awhile. Then I realized if Freckle is told to cease & desist, what's he going to say?

"yes, I will cease and desist immediately."

Why? BECAUSE HE ALREADY OWNS MOST OF THE SUPER-T LINE. Only one last question to ask before filing away under "too little, too late", kind of hate to put this in his mind too, but ...

Freckle, do you think you will get the urge at some point to have backups for these devices?
