This is what David posted yesterday in the update thread..

Wrap coil on a drillbit/nail/whatever, mount the coil, pull the ekowool through. Making a clean cut (nail clippers) and moistening the end helps it not fray as you try to get it into the coil; or you can use a bit of tape then cut the taped end off once its through. The diameter of the coil should be big enough to get the ekowool through but small enough that it drags a little. Another benefit is that it's easy to pull the wick, dry burn the coil, then feed in a brand new wick (or the old one, for that matter).
Woah I didn't know folks actually went through this to wrap their kayfuns ? I use 1.5 mm bamboo wick and 30awg like I would any other atty but using a lil more length on the wick so it sticks up about 1/4 inch above the top of the cylinder cut off the excess tuck the wick in the channels, adjust coils right above airway and your done. Not a tough build at all : )
You saying i should not be shoving the wick down into the bottom part? That is all i have ever done. I thought this would help with wicking.Raqball Even the figure 8 is over complicating something that does not have to be complex to work great. If you cut two 1 1/2 inch pieces of at least 2mm thick wicking material hold the two pieces together wrap your coil and run the excess wick up the chimney cylinder and cut to leave 1/4 inch above the chimney cylinder it will fit perfectly in the channels and not block any airway. I've used 2mm ekowool put together 2mm bamboo wick and silica wicks and everyone has been spot on. I can run about 35ml worth of juice between wick changes too. I love these darn things lol.

I found it to be easiest to wrap my coil around a screw. Then install on the deck. Followed by threading ekowool through the coils using a wire hook ( 26g wire about 1 inch with a hook at the end). I usually end up with 4 strands in between the coil. This method you don't waste wick and you can always re wick when needed.
Figure 8 wastes too much wick to build. And you can't re wick a figure 8.

As I promised, ELA with the new brass ring and my brass and stainless tip Ive had in my drip tip box waiting to be used

My method still provides 4 paths (and in my case 12 due to using bamboo wick) it just doesn't have those stupid loops that take forever to get to the right size lol. Basically once you have the figure 8 coiled cut both of the loops in half and you have my setup. Engineers approach is always the most over complicated method that some hillbilly mechanic like myself finds a faster way to complete. Might not look great ,but it darn sure works lol
Nach .. How can you tell?
Anyone talk about ELA's in here anymore?![]()
