Also, there are always going to be people canceling their orders.

The thing is, our "ELA Support Group" seems to be pretty good at convincing frustrated pre-orderers to wait...

Best bet would be keeping track of this thread, looking out for people that cancel and people that sell. Most seem to be pretty good at either announcing their intent to sell or letting people know an ELA is in the classies.

There was an ELA for sale or trade last night. But it is gone. I think there have been 3 ELAs that were either extras people ordered or people were just looking for the next latest and greatest. With the ELAs advanced features being recognized now, its in the wanted list now that its not available so it has a great leverage for those looking for those ultra hard to find or really expensive PVs.

You may also get a PM from someone with intentions of going on the classies so watch for that. Unlike other PVs, bailing from this one seems to carry a little guilt ;)

Shouldn't be. I can see why the ELA might not be for everybody and it's hard to know unless it's been in your hand.

No argument there, but in recent memory I recall a seller making the announcement starting with ... I may get slammed for this but I'm giving up my ELA because ...

Agree should be no guilt, just sayin' ...

The ELA is clearly for those looking for, and committed to, owning state of the art.
Having the patience to follow through with that is the real challenge imo.

I wouldn't call it guilt per se... More like the feeling of kicking yourself out of a fairly exclusive club, knowing that you won't have the option of getting back in any time soon (if ever). It's not an easy decision... I know from personal experience...

We all had a long wait and we all waited right here in this thread. In that time, we all got to know each other fairly well and the one thing we all had in common was the ELA. When I made the decision to trade it away, I didn't do it lightly and wouldn't have been broken hearted had the deal fallen through.

And yes, I did make it a point to let the the folks here on this thread know that I made the trade as opposed to letting people find out by reading the classifieds.

Guilt, apprehension, 2nd thoughts - it's all in the family. Not a trivial decision and one with possible consequences, like remorse later if the deal you made doesn't stand the test of time when the ELA would have arrived :)

Meh... Not worried about that. Any good quality mech is going last. My decision was based solely on the fact that I wasn't using it. The weight and form factor of my fixed tube P+'s were simply a better fit for me personally. The ELA was just way to nice to spend it's days sitting on a shelf. Trading the ELA for something I'll get more use out of and putting the ELA in the hands of someone who's actually going to use it just makes sense... So, no... No guilt, apprehension or 2nd thoughts about the trade itself. The only thing that gave me pause is the loss of "this thing we have in common", with a great group of people... At least for me anyway...

I can understand you jasl90..

I am usually not a bottom button PV lover.. I make an exception for David's devices because of the pure quality of his work!

I am a bit concerned about the weight of the ELA.. If it's weight is not to my liking then I'd probably toss mine up for trade as well.. The only problem is that IMHO there is nothing comparable to Super T quality that would make for a good trade....

You know... ELA was a little heavy at first, but after a few days/weeks, you just get used to it and its like it was never an issue.

Don't make me break out and say, "If a woman (anavidfan) can overcome the heft of this mod, than surely a man could too!"

Just sayin'....

A recent photo of me...

LOL... Thanks guys. I'll 2nd you on the Super-T quality. I get cracked up on when see people talking about the "flawless machining" on some other popular devices. It may be good, but Super-T is the only one that I've seen that is consistently "flawless".

I'll be buried w/ my fixed tube P+'s...
