ELA #2 has landed. 223 days! I am just so happy happy happy happy happy!

I am still anxious about getting #3, but now that I have one as a backup, I feel so much better! :)

Thank you Super-T! :)

Enjoy ELA number 2! I should be seeing my second one in a few weeks. Didn't order number three...wish I had now. Such a great device.

It varies from person to person, but mine will get "lose" if it gets dirty. Again it vaires, some have never cleaned theirs and no loosening. Mine gets really dirty and will lose its grip. I just soak it in hot soapy water, give it a good scrubbing, dry and go over with a alchohol soaked q-tip and still more black gunk comes from the locking ring, no more slipping.

Just in case, I was talking about the locking ring, I assumed that is what you meant ? :)

That's exactly the method I used when I cleaned my ELA. It amazed me how much black junk came off it even after the soapy bath and toothbrush scrubbing
Do you remove the compression band when you do this?

The whole gap/oring thing had always been the biggest pita for me. All of my Super T mods wind up getting a specific battery and atty so everything fits together perfectly.

The ELA gives you a bit more flexibility than the other straight tube mods but still you won't get the perfect fit in all battery combinations.

The only thing I think Dave could do to improve these minor aesthetical issues is to come up switch design similar in nature to the Nemesis. It just solves all the other issues we seem to have.

Never thought about the extra grip without the ring? Humm. Maybe my baby will get a nice warm bubble bath today. And then a little makeover.

Oh that reminds me. I need to remind my sweetie to make her spa appointment that I got her for Christmas.
After all the girls need to be pampered. If they ain't happy. Then I ain't happy.

Im a bit on the cautious side ( OK, Im paranoid) since I messed up my first compression ring. So I leave it in , but every 4 or 5 times I very carefully slide it out to clean it better. If you take the compression ring out you have to gently slide it out on the threaded side. The other side has a short more solid edge. If you force it over the non thread edge, thats where you take the chance of warping it. I found out the wrong way:)

When I dont remove the compression ring I just soak and use a soft toothbrush and I sort of brush in the space and spin it around to get the whole area under, then I do the same with a q-tip and alcohol.

That was an excellent and informative post! I try not to even look at my compression ring for fear of jacking it up. Now I'm not so skeered.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forgot I cut my fingers up all to heck with a razor blade the other day. (yea I'm that smart). Did all the kitchen dishes, grrrrrrrrrrrr hurts. Not just got out the wonderful 99% alcohol to give ELA her rub down.
OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I know I tend to "nag" sometimes but really, I think there is a big and important NEED for some more detailed "breakdown, how to videos" for the locking ring, bottom contact/button, complete o-ring replacement , especially the set on the top post.

I know for some it very self explanatory, but there is a lot of room for messing things up. It would help us that are paranoid, and save Dave time on having to get them back because of "user error" incidents.:) ( guilty as charged)

Make a video. That's what I do. I can play the ShockWave! Can you?

But I dont know how to take apart the top parts, plus Im camera shy and my hands make the manliest, messed up hands look pretty. To top it off, my left hand is rubbish, especially when stressed and thing drop or I cant do things fast. It would be one of those comedic out take types of how to videos.
