Just for kicks, Vap, check to see in the parts bag if there is a thinner oring for the top connection. I had a problem fitting my satin one in when I got it, and I switched it to the thinner one and voila, it worked. Just a thought....
I don't take you seriously. Guaranteed. It was more of your putting words in David's mouth and using
"problematic" like a boss. The "I don't think" part of yours an assumption of others potential interest and there was interest the last discussion.

I tried, no luck. I left the o-ring off entirely and it still wouldn't get past the normal point.
I did have some luck with my polished cap, I am able to pretty much fully screw the post into it, but only with the wrench. The satin cap doesn't budge no matter how hard I try. If I had a vice grip to hold the cap and I could use both hands to work the wrench I might get somewhere - but I don't have one.
Wow, vapt, I certainly hope David can figure this out. I dont remember so did anyone else have problems? Only thing I can think of is that something is off on the threading either on your original unit or if its the new caps then others would have problems too. Very odd. I never got any response on my post regarding the top cap outer accent cover having less threads than the polished.
Yes, but I think it's rather a post problem in my case. One of my posts works in both, the other post only works in my polished cap.
It's no big deal. Either I'll make it right, David will, or I won't care. But what it illustrates to me is that when you start taking something that's fairly perfect from the get go and start throwing wish list add-ons and doohickies at it just because, you're probably going to encounter a glitch or two.Sorry to hear that! Just a friendly reminder, please keep disagreements civil. We don't need to call names or point out where others are "wrong" and get into a big back and forth. We all have opinions and as such, they are unique to us all. After nearly 5 years on this forum now, one thing I've learned the hard way, internet wars are a big emotional strain and an even bigger waste of time.

I think the greater population has developed a horrible allergic reaction to QWERTY keyboards and is super charged by monitor light. The major symptom of said allergic reaction is it causes the affected persons to turn into pretentious idiots.
It is unknown if a punch to the face or a hug is needed to rectify this condition. However, the fact remains.... Physical intervention must be used!!!
This is also believed to be linked to Walmartitus. When certain people enter through the doors of the store, the decimal point on their IQ score shifts to the left by one to 2 places.
It is also been noted, people affected by both conditions at the same time are usually guaranteed a walk on role on AMC's Walking Dead. Warning! DO NOT HUG THESE PEOPLE!!

I would like to extend my apologies to the thread for the disruption as well as to Magic Dragon Puff. Knowing that I am 50% responsible for the relationships I have, whether it be on the webz, a waitress, family, someone on the street interacted with, etc., I will take responsibility for my actions and reactions. Oh , Idaho. Im glad you are here with us, heaven knows Ive hounded you since I can remember to check out the ELA. I was thrilled when you finally got one. You have always been one of the "good ones" at the other greek thread and when you had enough, you had good reasons. You never minced words nor kissed up, nor were you rude. I myself am not well recieved there as I also never "praised" the feared the greek gods, when I had a problem I tried my best to get an answer and you know how that turned out.
THis forum has been a pleasure and found it refreshing. Easy going, laid back, very helpful and much more freedom to speak with out fear.
