I am excited with you folks. I used to work on industrial robotics and worked in machine shops all over the world. I think that great machine work and craftsmanship are art. Watching the videos of these being made and the photos shows the extraordinary craftsmanship put into the product. The innovated design and flexibility is top notch. I would think my order will be out of the second batch so I have some waiting ahead. I will be many shades of green with jealousy watching the photos come in from the first batch.

So here is an extra advantage I was just thinking about regarding the design of this ELA's telescoping method.

You can position the airhole where ever you want!

One of my big pet peeves is not being able to position the atty with the switch. Here all you have to do is loosen the tube locking mechanism, align tube properly with switch and tighten tube locking mechanism again.

I'm now that much more excited for the ELA to arrive!!

well, hopefully Super-Ts patent pending will be protecting it.

Still won't stop China from copying it, I'm sure. Patents and intellectual property are hard and expensive to establish and protect internationally, not to mention certain countries don't seem to give a flying fart whose toes they're stepping on, anyway . . .

One thing I can say with certainty, though, is that the copies that will inevitably come up will be but a pale shadow of the real thing ;-)

I agree that patents won't stop copying of anything. It will make it difficult and risky for any vendor to sell infringing devices in the U.S. though.

I would also agree that any copy will be spotted a mile away due to quality.

Actually there is one country that had the basic idea of the ELA already, just wasn't telescoping, before any news was brought forth from superT. That mod sucked, so the maker quit making it. Then another mod reared it's head with the same basic idea, but with a top button. The second one came out after superT announced the ELA. It never really made it either. Very horrid and rough design.

Indeed. Machining quality notwithstanding, I don't foresee any Chinese knockoffs employing rhodium plated contacts. Rhodium plating is a refinement that drives the performance and ease of maintenance of super t's mods well beyond any other mechanical mod. But such an extravagance seems to be in conflict with the Chinese mass producers' philosophy of build cheaply in high bulk and profit by volume.

Any clone ELAs will do nothing more than highlight the degree of superiority acheived by Super T. The subsequent comparisons will actually put Super T's build quality in the spot light, and it will be readibly apparent how the company shines above the others. That'll be an ancillary benefit from the design being cloned... if you choose to look on the bright side of things.

The people that made the Noble have already copied some of the exterior designs

Alright! Just wondering though, hope people won't make copies of this for the meantime,That would be a lot of help with serials on. just my 2 cents though. Production starts next week! yahoo! Can't wait!

Can we order more gear from SuperT and have added to shipping with the ELA?
ie. SS d/t's , batts ...accent rings

Pretty sure you can order it, include your ELA order number in the notes and ask for it to be combined, then the shipping on the second order will be refunded back to you

Yea, I think that's exactly what happens :D
