Always did have to keep it simple for the Navy
At least don't have to spell it out and draw pictures like we do for the chair force.

My best friend in HS actually joined when I didn't. She was my wingman so my recruiter wouldn't try anything funny after my first bad experience.Ugh....I was a jr in high school when I took my first ASVABs.... After the initial rejections because I was 16, and apparently a cheater, I took again as a 17 y/o senior and lucked out...I went up 2 points, and met my recruiter
LOL...when I was doing AIT at Ft Sam, I had to go teach CPR class on AFB... I was E2 and got saluted.Guess the sarcasm font stopped working again.

Nope....we use "former" or "prior", but just "Marine" is safestMy husband was a Marine, many years ago... but hey, Marine... I only tease him gently, with love and a smile...I wouldn't suggest ever teasing a Marine OR former Marine in any other way.

I have a buddy who retired from the Corps, then went Army Guard. I get to get him twice when we start name calling!I just call my cousin jarhead, it works, cause he still calls me and our uncle squid. But he is outnumbered
Strangely, I loved blowing things up in basic.....lol...BOOM!!!!!My cousin was marine corps reserves, artillery. He is a firm believer in superior firepower
