One of my close friends has been looking to adopt a husky for a while. He and his wife just got settled into a new house. I've had to spend time making sure he knows all the ins and outs of huskies before making his final decision.
THANK YOU!!!!! Lol"..so many of the ones needing help are ones being rehomed because people didnt bother to learn about the breed first!!!

He is so gorgeous!
Shhh...he might hear you and get an even bigger head. But, he is pretty cute, and proff you can get a GOOD dog from a rescue! Our first Husky was from a shelter, 2nd was a save from a back yard breeder, max was from a rescue.

Oh yes. I know all about their crazy shedding (especially in a tropical climate like ours) and their need for constant stimulation and exercise - both physical and mental. I've seen so many huskies go to shelters or rescues for destroying things because they weren't given the proper things to keep them busy. Not to mention they can escape pretty much anything lol

Max ate his way out of a crate...didn't pop the door open, ATE through the side...lol...then proceeded to eat a bed, a couch, shoes, MacBook charger, Bose headphones...basically anything not in the garage. He has a "little" separation anxiety. It's gotten better now that he's out of puppy phase, thankfully.

I also have a thing for Aussies and Border Collies. Our 3 most recent dogs (my 2 girls, and the big boy at my parents) are all Aussie or a mix of Aussie. Similar situation with shedding and need for mental stimulation. Never owned a border collie, even though I think they are one of my favourite breeds, just because I don't think I could keep up with their energy! Aussies are like a toned down version of them, lol.

I think he's amazing. I bet he's a joy to be around -- and I bet he'd tear anyone a new one that tried to do anything to you!

We'll be getting a dog eventually, but we want to wait till we can fence in the back yard; we both hate the very thought of putting a dog on a chain, but also don't necessarily wanna go walkies everytime the dog needs to tinkle! Also we're still arguing, dachshund (my choice) or corgie? (his choice). :D I had a long-haired dachshund when I was a kid, and I'd really love to have another; maybe a black one this time, to match our [mostly] black cat!

Andria

had both doxies and corgies - I'd go for the more intelligent of the two, the corgi's might be short in legs, but are oh so smart and good family dogs too... Hubby says no more 4 legged critters in our 5th wheel, so I sneak my 'fuzz fixes' from those walking by our rig (grin) as we travel... Corgi's need a firm hand to let them know they're not top dog, tho!

Our dachshund, Gretel, was one of those "singing" dogs... it first started when I started learning the violin, when I was 11... I'd be practicing scales, and she'd come into the room and start "awoo000oooo00ooooo" -- then later we trained her to do that if we said "where's daddy?" Then when I got a piano at 13, she'd sing with that, too. :D She was amazing. That's kinda why I'd like another dachshund, to see if she's a singer too! (only want female animals, males are too smelly for me, either cats or dogs).

UncleChuck - actually our notification (of being a runner up, and then which prizes we'd like to list, for the one we'd get)... said not to share the 'form' or link, that we used to state our choices with anyone...

I don't think they wanted others, outside of the winners, to be contacting them through that link to the form - I'm sure they had enough work on their hands just to wade through our responses!! lol

just adding my thoughts on this..... otherwise, tis ok to share what we were notified we'd get, and such, with others - that's just fun! right? (keep in mind, these are just my thoughts regarding what they asked of us, and I ain't perfect yet!)

Cool, thanks for the heads up! Totally misunderstood that one, I would have been participating in this thread the whole time if I hadn't been worried about breaking the rules ;)

For the record... my worries to be known as the 14, 999, 999th post are gone! As far down the list as I am the filling out of the 20 was still difficult. Great prizes and a big thanks to ECF and CONGRATS to the others selected. Now I need a nap.

Not as far down as some others (me an a few more):D

Congrats to everybody else on the list!!!

Thanks to SJ, ECF, the vendors and all others involved with this!

Now I have to wait til I get home to do fill out the form (or even be able to see it) silly gubernant network has it blocked - gonna be a long day at the office.

Mac I know I spent an hour looking at the list and going back to look at the prizes. Enjoy.
