Hey everyone. Heading to bed now, but wanted to let you know I likely won't be around much the next few days. My very fragile and elderly (95 years) father is on his last days on this planet. I spent most of the afternoon at his side, as they say he will likely pass in the coming days. At this point, at least for him, it will be a blessing.

Please keep posting everyone. Don't let the FDA push us away. We matter. Our stories and voices matter. Our lives matter. Our right to vape matters. So don't lose the faith. We all need to push push push.

See ya'z all soon.

Thoughts and prayers heading your way. It is good that you are close to him and can be with him now. You both will be in my thoughts.

We spent some time with my father this afternoon and he was in very bad shape. Then we met my brother and SIL for dinner, when the call came that he passed away. He was in so much pain, it was just awful to see, so I'm grateful he doesn't have to suffer anymore. And it was nice that we were all together when we got the news.

Thanks for the all the good wishes. While he wasn't religious, I hope he has joined my mother and his family.

I am sorry for your loss but I hope you can take comfort in knowing you were there for him. My father had a very difficult passing from advanced lung cancer many years ago. It is very hard to see a loved one in pain. Wishing you and your dad peace.

Well, we went to the nursing home and packed up all his stuff. I found it odd, somewhat liberating and cathartic all at the same time. There really wasn't anything we wanted to keep, so we donated everything he had to the nursing home for residents not as fortunate as he was.

I needed something to take my mind off the last day after we left, so we went appliance shopping for the new house. We found what we want, now we just need our condo to sell.

I'm taking tomorrow off from work and we'll stop by the nursing home and take them a cake to thank them for all the love and care they gave my father during his three year stay there.

I hope you all have had a much less eventful weekend than we have.........

I can relate. I had a hard time boxing mom's house up. Most went to my daughter, I found treasures (to me) and a ton of pictures from when I was little. I didn't have any previously. My dad's Army uniform, complete minus the boots and shoes. So many memories.

I ended up just giving the house to the neighbor. She was Mom's family for over 20 years. Neighbors daughter has since moved in with her daughter (who is named after my mom). Loving home to loving people. Mom is smiling down, I'm positive.

Mom's passing made it possible for us to start building our own place a year sooner than we planned. We are in the process now. Just finished designing the pool and back area. It's going to be months before it is done (probably January) They say 7 - 8 months before build is done and we can close/move in. Half that time is for permits and the other half for the actual build.

I'm still mulling over ideas of how to display/store Dad's uniform/portrait/flag.

Things to keep me busy but still there are times......

I totally lost it when I gave the key to the neighbor. Finality sinks in.

Anyway. You will get through this and you will find times when the sadness comes in waves. Hold onto the memories and ride the waves. They do lessen.

It's funny (in a not so funny way) that I went back to work today and was more depressed than the previous days. I think having to deal with all the agencies, banks, etc., while annoying to go through, is actually good, because it keeps your mind off the loss you've just experience. I managed to get a lot done in two days, so at work, it was very difficult for me to concentrate on work at all. I understand why people take more than a couple days off, but I just had to get back to work and we have a 3 day weekend coming up this weekend.

We got an offer on our condo last night. It was not a good offer and we countered, but they refused to budge, so we told them to pound sand. They supposedly have looked in our building for close to 3 years and really want to live here. We're the only unit for sale out of 84 condo's. They were clearly hoping we were desperate, or perhaps they're hoping we don't get any other offers, they'll hit us again.

But

Wait for it

We had a showing this afternoon, and the guy lives in a condo just around the corner from us. The condo building he lives in went rental and the new owners are pushing everyone who purchased at the beginning out, so he has to do something and he really loved our condo. While he was there with his agent and our agent, he made an offer, all cash, with closing in 30 days. And the offer was actually really good! The signed offer will be ready for us to sign tomorrow, but it appears we're moving to our new home in 30 days.

Having the new place to think about is so well timed for us.

Hope you are all doing well.........

Did anybody catch that licence plate?

bb3213.jpg

Thank you, jwb. If and when I can release from the doomings, I just might opt to show the Betts in a brighter license plate form! Love it, and thank you, sincerely.

I needed that.

This issue certainly makes one think about the core values they think each party represents. It makes it more difficult to weigh all the other issues outside of vaping that are very important. Single issue voting turns my moderate stomach. (Actually, my stomach isn't moderate at all, but the rest of me is.)

We need all our local, state and national representatives to understand the web the FDA is weaving, regardless of party. Both sides are likely just regurgitating general party directives that are pro regulation or anti regulation without really considering the consequences. We need them to actually think!

We started out vaping mainly because we were smokers. Little did we know we would need to become educators!

Or political, in any sense. I NEVER saw THAT coming.

All we really can do is to make noise, and lots of it. Hoping that our reps will "understand" is futile. I think that's fairly clear by now.

As far as the FDA goes? This is something you (all) might want to watch. How much of it is accurate and legit and truthful, I do not know, but I do know quite a bit of it is factual. (Example: raw milk)

I don't know what party is aligned with my beliefs anymore.

My guess? None. :(

Very few it seems to me.
Got the Dems who've become my nanny protecting me from my sins. Got the Repubs who've become my pastor protecting me from my sins.
And you two drove by; did you see me doing a mooning to the FDA?

We did. One responded to your moon, and the other, a :p. (not telling which was which or witch)

Thanks so much........

Thank you both and I really like the thought his spirit is shining down on us. Yes I do!
Saturday was my moms internment...I have celiac disease so travel for me is difficult and inconvenient...I told my dad a week or so ago I wouldn't be able to make it. Been in kind of a funny mood lately, my brothers don't call, 900 miles can feel like an ocean sometimes. I know she's OK with things though. Funny how they can still rest a hand on your shoulder and tell you it's OK even after they are gone. Still keeping you in my thoughts RB.......

I'm sorry you couldn't attend your mom's internment Duane. Yes, 900 miles can seem like the other side of the planet. I think you're entitled to be in a 'mood.' Lord knows I've been in one. Major life changes are unsettling at best.

The one thing I haven't been prepared for is how many people, especially in my office, wanted to speak with me. I know they're trying to be comforting and supportive, but there was a time this morning when I had to leave the office as one person had me in tears. A simple, I'm sorry for your loss would have been great. But dissecting the experience was a bit too much for me.

I was sorry to read all that, @ENAUD. My heart goes out to you.

Along with a very sincere, "Congratulations!" to Rod & Charlie.

@Robino1 - simply beautiful. A rare slow read, it was. [emoji173]

And @Katdarling - yeah, you surely are... [emoji6]

I hope everyone else is well, at least in the general sense. [emoji4]

I think I am finally going to get the Tiffany Classic that I've wanted since it came out - there is a Blem, and I can get two batteries, the classic, a charger, and a battery case for $155 with the coupon code (thanks Rod!) I usually build just over 1ohm in my rtas, and vape 12-14W.

Will I love it? Or should I save up a little more and go for the procyon?

The Classic has a 4.5 amp and 15 watt limit so you should be good to go with the Classic.
