What annoys me about kbf's problem is that it was a debit card, in other words her money, not a credit card which is their money. This is probably why the rep she talked to was nervous. Banks need to have a good reason to deny you access to your money. It could be a real problem for them if enough people were to become upset over this.

You guys probably know this, but while you have the $50 limit for fraud on a credit card, such is not the case with a debit card. Any money in that account is wide open. Some banks are covering debit cards with the $50 limit or even no limit, but they do not have to do so.

Nothing to do with credit cards, but I've always wondered if you've ever run into Chip and Joanna Gaines from Magnolia? I love their HGTV show, Fixer Upper.

Rod, no, I don't know the folks. I'm so out of it that I didn't even know about the show or them until a couple of months ago. They have become this sort of cult. People come from all over the country to go to their store--and you don't want to get near there on a Saturday. One of the guys at the bank told me people actually move here just so Chip and Joanna can do their house. Nuts!

Still, I guess it's good news for Waco after the Branch Davidians, which didn't happen in Waco, and the Baylor football team scandal, which did.

I must admit that thanks to the media, I didn't have a very positive view of Waco, TX. Chip and Joanna have shown Waco to be a really nice town, filled with really nice people. We have friends who went to Waco, just to visit the Magnolia Silo stores. They said it was a fun experience. I would be delighted to have them do a house for us. But our style is a bit more contemporary than their style.

I have not posted for a few months; In Jan I was told I had Cancer of the esophagus. Since then I have had chemo, radiation, and a surgery that removed 2/3 of the esophagus and 1/3 of my stomach, I am back to eating regular food now. Have been told I am cancer free.

This was caused by acid reflux and nothing else.

Great to be back.

Nice to see you! So glad to hear that you had successful treatment for your cancer, bummer to hear that you had to go through that though.

WOW, seems there's a whole bunch of "survivors" in here. I just dug out my CT scans and they were from 1997, it's been 19 years for me since my surgery. It's been one heck of a great ride since then! Ain't life grand!?!
