Oh vapor beast...where to begin?
****DISCLAIMER: This story is being posted because it was hilariously insane. NOT to bash a vendor.****
About this time, last year, I ordered a wide bore mouthpiece from them. I ordered the black Delrin version. It was a last minute cheap-o item to top off an order.
[emoji403]
They proceeded to ship me the black SS version.
[emoji393]
I promptly emailed them regarding the mix-up, assuming I could send it back for an exchange...or that, like most large online vendors, they'd just send me a replacement with no exchange needed...after all, it was a $3.49 mistake.
[emoji392]
Well, after about two days, I get a response to my email.
"Oh no, sorry about that mix up! Can you send me a photo of what you did receive? Once we verify the mistake a can send a replacement and return label. We apologize for the mix up, but no worries we will get this all straighten out. please send a photo of the item. Thank you."
[emoji393]
So I comply:
"Hello! I've got the pictures!"
[emoji392]
Customer service replies:
"Thank you for your photo. We have reviewed your photo against the actual product and this is in fact the Big Well Delrin Drip Tip in black. I have asked a one of the senior technicians they said that the material it was made with was not metal it is made of a plastic mix type material, but we did send you the correct item."
At this point, as a mechanic and hot rod builder (but mostly as a normal human being with eyes), I lose it.
But luckily, I get a surprise phone call from one of these "Senior Technicians"...he agrees to send me another mouthpiece as a replacement, with no need to exchange. Sweet.
Then the replacement shows up, and it's the same black coated SS mouthpiece.
[emoji393]
I email them back.
"Hi Tiffany!
I just wanted to inform you that the replacement package arrived.
However, I was sent the exact same drip tip as before...
The METAL one.
I also wanted to inform you, that you should run as far away from vaporbeast as possible.
You are currently working for a company that hired people who cannot tell the difference between plastic and metal. That is very scary.
I'm not sure if I came off as a huge ....., and was sent the same METAL drip tip as a passive-aggressive "F-you"...or if your team really thinks they were looking at a plastic item.
All I can tell you is, this is not plastic in ANY UNIVERSE.
I apologize that you were the one to have to deal with this problem...
You've been very polite and friendly, and I hate that you're my only point of contact regarding this problem, as you don't seem to deserve receiving this rant.
If this is the best vaporbeast has to offer, in regards to the problem resolution handled in my phone call last week, then I guess I can no longer be a VaporBeast customer.
It's pretty sad that the guy on the phone told me you don't offer a black Stainless Steel version of this item, when I was looking at it on your website, while on the phone with him...
By the way, you still offer those two options...I took that screenshot in the middle of writing this message.
I'd appreciate if you could forward my issue to a higher level of authority there...although, at this point, I get the feeling that your company won't be able to offer a satisfactory solution.
All this over a $3.49 plastic drip tip?
No. All this over the principle of the fact, that when a customer orders one thing, the customer should get what they ordered.
Again, I apologize that YOU are the one who has to receive this email...
But please know, this isn't a personal attack on you, Tiffany.
This is aimed at whoever you forward it to.
I sincerely hope there can be some kind of resolution here, because it really scares me that metal was confused for plastic...TWICE."
[emoji393]
Well, I eventually got a response and an offer for a third attempt at replacing the item.
It never showed up.
-------------------------
Hahahahaha I don't know how people who work in the industry couldn't tell the difference between plastic and metal...especially when I sent a hi-res picture of the BURN MARKS inside the metal mouthpiece, from where it had been machined.
Oh well. Lesson learned.
