Pierogi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These dumplings are popular in Slavic (Polish, Russian, Slovak, Ukrainian), Baltic (Latvian, Lithuanian) and other cuisines where they are known under local names.

Oh, my dearest Dwarf Leopard - you just don't know the background. Your source states they would be popular in Latvia too - the thing is - there are so many russians in Latvia, that Wiki post just might be true.
Latvians don't make them. We have other stuff. Nevertheless - they are tasty. But pierogi have never been OUR dish.

That's what it says in Wikipedia, so it must be true. Maybe you were adopted.

( 5 cents says next time TO orders a pizza she will slip and say o-rings !! )

Not going to happen. We have a very small pizza parlor here that delivers to a very small area. I just says "the usual."

I don't think I've tried any Latvian food before. What's the usual dishes there?

Can you imagine German food? Basically like that. Ok, there are some small national differences...
