If you plan to use it on your new Sophia V2, a 30 foot roll is going to last a while. Let's just say you use 12 inches (more than you have to) for each build. That would give you 30 builds. I can make a coil last 6 months or more 30 feet is going to last me several years.

Is there a trick to getting a coil to last 6 months?

The box of rayon I have is 40ft. Including the extra fiber that comes out when I pull off a piece and the ends that get snipped off, each wick I make uses about a toothpick sized piece of rayon. I'm not good at math, I'll let you figure it out. ;)

Sounds like I am set for years on rebuilding supplies then.

I'm nowhere near any of y'all - I've learned so much here. One day, I hope to be able to tell my decendants, "Oh, yeah - we used to converse on ECF" and they'll be like "What is an ECF? Is that before or after the telegraph?" (as if they knew what a telegraph was).

That will be like explaining AOL chat to the young'uns. The idea that trolls used .wav files confounds them.

When you start using rba's, I have no sense of how much wires is being consumed. I got a small roll, it is 30feet. I went small because I didn't know if I would be using multiple gauges.

The roll is 30' that to me sounds like it would last several years but I don't know how much really gets consumed. I passed up on 100' thinking it is more than I would ever use.

How much Kanthal do you guys consume?

Oh, I also got a box of rayon that was recommended to me. The box is huge, I have a feeling it is a ten lifetime supply.
I actually just bought another 650' of 28g and 350' of 26g, in case I get to teach the nephews about building coils. I am short on KGD cotton, though....and mesh...and RTAs...and Kabukis - better start saving. :(

Do you have a lot of nephews?

Mesh? Do I need mesh?

I've been giving that some thought - haven't really made a concrete decision. I've got a couple of tabacco flavored from my local B&M and I also have some of HHV and NET liquids (sample packs - thanks to the HHV forum for recommendations) coming, so I'm hopeful that I can find them something they like - now I just need to find a good tank for them. It will initially need to be plug-n-play. It also needs to be fairly inexpensive, as my vape budget is well over the limit with recent purchases. Any tank suggestions for starters?

I have one of these, but the design of the sleeve is different. It's got a glass tube. Even though it uses protank/evod heads I had good luck with it.

Oh for sure they were slammed. That's why it took me 40 minutes to place my order. Sounds like the same thing that happened to you happened to me. How did you get your issue resolved so quickly? I'm still waiting so I can re-order.
Fortunately, I just clicked once and it appeared to take but then came back with the items still in my cart. I then checked my e-mail and found one from my bank indicating a charge from them - so I immediately opened a ticket and waited. I wouldn't say it was resolved quickly since they just contacted me around noon. I explained the situation and did a cut/paste of the e-mail I received from them indicating my order was placed (received about 30m after the bank e-mail). He (David@MFS) checked and said the order didn't exist. They refunded my money and sent me the order for free (it was only the coils). They've earned my respect and continued business.

Oh, that looks perfect and the heads look very similar to the ones used by the aerotank - of which I have a supply (my wife loved the aerotank until I hooked her on the Squape R/Rs and the Kabuki). The coil package says it works with the protank....

ETA: What kind of AF does it have - I can't tell?

I ordered a black regular size, but someone else got it - Russell was kind enough to offer another Bronze one (or refund). I am going to one of their stores and try some of these ADV that the Ocelot keeps talking about.

Yes. "Someone else" got mine too.

It's not adjustable, or at least the one I have isn't. I think AF is about medium (I know, doesn't help). They came out before the "airy" draws were popular.

Unrelated...

Being a Princess (and by stalking Edward at Sun-Vapers) I received one of the first Protanks released in the US. Edward worked with Kanger to design them and somehow in my search for glass I discover them before anyone else had heard of them. The very first ones had bugs, but with counseling we ended up being the best of friends - actually up until I met Rüzgar. Anyway, the first couple of shipments were VERY airy (unheard of at the time!) and people were trying different ways to reduce the airflow. Funny how times have changed! This was my solution:

I would be more than happy if they sent me my coils for free. I did cut/paste of the email I received too but and also let whoever I talked to on the phone on Monday know what I ordered. I asked if it was possible just to create an order with the same order number and send what I wanted but he said no, they would have to issue a refund first and then they would send me a coupon code.

I do have to change out my cotton wicks every week or so. When I do change wicks, I use a torch to clean my coils while they are still in the base part of the Sophia. I hold it with one hand so I can feel how hot it's getting. It's not recommended to do it this way especially with the Sophia V1 as it has a plastic insulator in it and the flanges to hold the ceramic cup can be compromised from the heat. I think with the V2, you could easily do the same and not have the same risks as I do since you won't have a plastic insulator and flanges. Might even be able to do it with a lighter. Just flash the coils a few times to burn off all the gunk.

Flashing? Is that heating the coil with the Provari while the coil has no wick and is dry?
