Don't answer it. That saved me when it came calling.

And with that, seeing we're back to disparaging Hillary, Sir Rod backs out for a while..........
If you think any of this is anything more than fun...

Disparaging Hillary? She does it all on her own.

I had a conversation with a guy who's anti guns and he was clear about his dislike of the AR-15, which he believed the AR meant assault rifle. I have to believe the media continually fills the public with false information. AR is not and never has been an assault weapon. ArmaLite rifle made in the 1950's. The FDA dishing out false information about our beloved Provari's, tanks and ejuice. Please leave us alone.

Not sure what your point is Ping? From Wiki, it's clear AR-15 is a term for assault rifle, regardless of which assault rifle. To me and I suspect most people, any weapon that is used to kill people on the street, a club a movie theatre or any public place qualifies as an assault weapon.

Here's Wikipedia's definition of AR-15

AR-15
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
AR-15 refers to any of several rifles:

These include:
  • Armalite AR-15, a select fire military assault rifle manufactured by Armalite, and predecessor of the M16
  • Colt AR-15, sold by Colt Firearms, a line of semiautomatic versions of the military M16 service rifle starting with the SP-1 Sporter model
  • AR-15 variants

Not stepping into this beehive...

But "AR" does NOT mean "Assault Rifle".

A = Armalite. R = Rifle.

Wikipedia is a publicly edited website, meaning anyone can make edits to the pages. Not saying someone maliciously edited the info there, but someone who is misinformed, and believes what they have been told, may have done so.

It's sorta like how they classify dirt bikes.
Sorry but it's the only comparison I can think of.

A Honda 250cc is a Honda brand dirt bike, and the 250cc refers to its engine size.

Yamaha makes a 250cc, so does Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc...

To say that "AR" means "assault rifle", is to say that 250cc is specific to a certain brand dirt bike.

Now, are these AR-15's heavily favored by militant forces, for combat purposes? Sure. But a device doesn't become something it's not, just because it was used in a certain way.

Just like our vape gear is NOT a tobacco product, just because we use it to replace smoking.

End rant. My two cents.
No horse in this race, except knowledge.
Feel free to correct my post.

P.S. SUPER confused as to how this topic was started...
