I am surrounded by 2.0 and 2.5's. The massive mix of devices of almost every kind has been narrowed down to only three device types.

Am I missing anything by not advancing past 2.5?

Or will only a ring work? If so where is the least expensive ring still available?
What choice do I have for battery sizes besides 18650?
