I am unaware that this is a re-post. If so I apologize in advance. I found this while searching for info on the storage of propylene glycol and found it very calming and interesting. It kind of calmed any worry I had about inhaling propylene glycol. I also thought that it was interesting that it requires the ingestion of 100ml or more to have any negative effects. Pretty good info to know on the product we inhale all day every day!

My biggest concern is the thick film it's put on my truck windows. Yes, analogs put a yellow thin glaze on the windows, but it could build up for a long time before you absolutely couldnt see. However, with pg vapor in the vehicle, it wasn't even a week before the window was so coated, you couldn't see a thing to drive-- and it is a thick, white coat. Don't get me wrong, I love my e-cig, but that did scare me a bit wondering how that film was coating my lungs.

That is real interesting (kinda disturbing). I vape in my truck with the windows up every day. I have yet to notice any film. I will have to take a closer look next time I am in there.

Your body converts Propylen Glycol into Lactic Acid, the same Acid your muscles produce when you make exercise, your body can manage pretty well the Propylen Glycol, but your truck's windows can't :D

I'm not worried about my windows or the rest of my body: just wondering if in 2 years, my lungs are going to be the same or worse than what it took 20 years for smoke to do? I am very grateful that e-cigs were able to pull me off the death sticks that made me miserable. My lungs were so bad, I would cough until I threw up just from walking 10 feet to the bathroom. They were so clogged that when I'd roll over in the night, I couldn't breathe at all, and they hurt like hell all the time. After 2 weeks on the e-cigs, I felt great and was breathing without choking. 3 weeks, even better. Now, at almost 6 weeks I am coughing a little and breathing a little heavy again. Granted, it's still 100 times better than I felt 6 weeks ago; I just hope I don't end up back where I was and have to quit these too! What if pg does in 10 years to your lungs what cigs do in 20, is all I'm saying. I'm crossing my fingers that it won't, but the damn windows got me thinking....!

I can see why you'd be concerned, it sounds scary. However I'm also wondering why I haven't heard of this before from others and why it hasn't happened to me in the 7 months I've been using ecigs (only, no regular cigs). I hope other folks respond to this - any other in-the-car vapers having such a result? Also wouldn't we see this result on windows in the house and such? Wonder why my monitor screen isn't coated as well.

Where do you get your carts/liquid, what are you using?

Thanks in advance for info - this is a distressing report and I think it's important we try to figure out what's going on.

Well, drive under a streetlight at night...it doesn't bother me during the day. At night, when lights hit the windshield, you can see it--it is like smeared fog on the inside and comes off with your finger. I use Ruyan cartridges, and smoke like a fiend, usually with the window cracked. Maybe it's the weather here, or my old windshield, or excess smoking? I don't know why it would be different, but if it's not a problem for you, don't worry about it.

I do appreciate the heads up booboo. I will keep a close eye on it from now on. Maybe my windshield is just so old I can't tell with all of the scratches and nicks in it hahaha!

booboo,

Just a shot in the dark here, but you may want to check your anti-freeze level.
Sometimes the vehicle's heater core will develop a pin hole leak and this will cause exactly what you are experiencing. I've replaced 3 of these in my truck over a 17 year period. You can also check the passenger side floor for dampness/moisture.

Just a thought.

If it is the vapor, then remember it's Ruyan-liquid that is being used.. most don't use that.
At the same time, I find it pretty comforting that it is Ruyan-liquid, seeing that is the liquid that has allready been looked at very closely, and has been found to be pretty safe, both relatively and absolutely. The latest report on the Ruyan-liquid: http://www.healthnz.co.nz/RuyanCartridgeReport30-Oct-08.pdf
Edit: I use Ruyan-liquid too, and I'm mostly sitting right next to a window (plus computerscreen). Never had them cleaner then since I e-smoke... If they have a film on them it must be a very thin one, I can't detect it. So the post Cage just made does seem to be a good thing to look into, perhaps :)
