I modded my V1 901 adapter to work with cartomizers, and works surprisingly well. Rather stiff draw, but I prefer that to to light a draw. All I used was a roto tool and a small diamond grinder, one grove across the top, which extends down aross the threads. I'd done this same mod to my 801 adapter to work with 201 atomizers. Of course the adapter still works perfectly with the 901. I use it with a resistor less switch, and an 18650 battery. Works really well.

I just ordered a PS Passthru v2 w/ 901 adapter and plan to do the same thing.

Will still order the proper adapter from PS once they release it.

NekkoGurl... do you have a pic of the cuts you made?

I get blank carts and fill my own. I can get 30 drops in a blank cart and run it all day long. I've found that I cannot vape PG so it's my only choice for now.
Hopefully PS will have some blanks in soon and offer a bulk discount like the regular attys.

I use the centrifugal filling method.
Looks goofy but it works like a champ....

Hope this shows the groves I made on the Prodigy adapter, don't have a macro option on my digital camera.

Thanks Neko...
looks easy enough.. have 2 or 3 901 adapters... Think I'll giver a whirl..

I'll be doing it tomorrow on my new passthru, I hope:rolleyes:. Pretty simple, u need to make one groove across the center conductor, then extend it down each side of the thread. How deep you cut, controls the draw. Caromizers on an 18650 are great, although I mostly use it at home.

Use the Protege and KR batteries when out and about. Find the auto batteries to be great to explain to people,

Exactly which cutter do you use?

My mom uses the cartos, but to me they just don't put out thick vapor like the 510. I find myself puffin and puffin and puffin and...

Convenience and flavor are the cartomizers strong suit, vapor production, not as much. Some carts I've gotten have been pretty weak on vapor production, but it usually just takes topping off with good juice. Just ordered my first pack of Atomz, and they should be here this afternoon w/ my PS Passthru. Blanks are great, when u can get them, but the carts are not that difficult to rinse out and refill with your own flavors. Air flow and voltage also has a big impact. I get great vapor production on a passthru, or at 5v on my prodigy.

I find with a good vg mix I get around around 70-80% of the 510, about equal to the 901.

Don't think they will ever completly replace either my 510 or 901. But when I can't drip, that's what I'll be using.

Lotus -- are you filling them yourself?
Because of the adapter I have the draw was a little light but I did a small mod that helped. Mine produce approx 85-90% of the vape I was getting out of the 510's and last a good half to full day on a single filling.

Looking forward to a correct adapter and some blanks from PS.

Yes, I fill 'em myself. Or refill 'em. HV liquid produces the most vapor but the low nic and throat hit doesn't work for me.

What mod did you do to your adapter?

I plug the center hole with the end of a wooden skewer and cut it off. (this is a 510 to carto adapter). Need to break out the dremel and mod one of my 901 Prodigy / protege adapters.

Neko.... How do you clean out a carto properly? Everclear
and .... where did that Avatar come from? Somehow it looks familiar.

I use Ecopure high and cut it with a small bit of Vg if I need more actual vapor.
I really don't care if I get any smoke or not as long as it properly feeds the monkey.

the 808's are tricky ...

We have a few 808 Adapters that have been cross hatched and we had a couple that were drilled (like an "L" that ends just above the step)

The Cross Hatched = Draw was a bit *tougher* than normal but still not too bad
Hole Drilled = A bit lighter than normal, sometimes need a primer ...

Do you guys like -- a bit tougher or a bit lighter ?

I like a lighter draw myself.

However, I would think that a cross-hatch would be hard to replicate consistently, given a standard of +/-5 thousandths. Drilling a hole is a heckuva lot more consistent - if the hole is the right size to begin with. Small numbered machinist bits should give a lot of options though.
