Not only titanium is a bad conductor, its also easy to scratch and i find it as an ugly metal in fact, who had only an interest/legitimity in personal equipment found in its 'specs' charima (mostly weight) before the turn of the ceramic, high-tech plastics and exotic anodizations. Titanium is from my point of view clearly outdated and typical of the early 1990's. (wich in itself is not a negative thing i mean).

In the other (heavier and luminous) hand, I strongly believe we'll have one day more mods available in silver ;) as there is for centurys silver small personal quality items for men, pens, lighters, and gold watches + the 'technico-romantic' excuse of conductivity specially found in mods (as there is 1200meters waterproof watches) cannot be missed.

The absolute coolness of vaping with a beautiful beloved device, the price given to attention to details and finition, the work yet done on different yellow brass, engravings, anodizing by some makes the option of a precious metal mod yet a reality (caravela silver is reputed sold out). For the price ... I may stop 6 month purchasing all the devices released on the planet for a silver GG, only one, once . Or built it piece by piece, time after time.

'darling, wath do you want for Xmass this year, i'v no idea to be frank ?
Wow i'm dreaming about a vented bottom cap in silver or the vermeil button head made the 10 years anniversary of the GG ! ;)

We are actually in the very early times of the interest , a too small market, for quality vaping 'equipment' , we are pionneer, that's a question of time... Not a bad time anyway
OK Corona , I vote also for the Silver GG , Yes ... :)

Imeo right now I am used to vaping with a 1ohm coil on a mech mainly for the throat hit but I understand that higher ohm coils produce more flavour and greater battery life. I am not so concerned with battery life (it is easy to carry extra 14500's) but more throat hit and strength of the vape. What ohm and wattage settings would you recomend for Proteus given the limitations of the 14500 batterys?

Silver is soft and weak. Sterling silver tarnishes. It will never keep its luster. I don't unferstand how you can keep it shiny.

Your right and you cant - Silver tarnishes quickly, all you do is polish it, then come the tiny marks from polishing cloths or bigger marks from improper polishing cloths. Its a disaster for an entire mod to my opinion, unless your going to put it in a box and look at it.

It would be better to coat GG's with Titanium Nitride - TiN - then GG's would never need polishing again - ever

I'd prefer Alu over Brass over SS but I also See the problems. The major Problem
is the GG warranty as not everybody knows to treat an Alu GG the right way.
Would be great to have all options (maybe with a limited warrant?), at least Brass parts would be great from the Start! :)

Thats exactly right and then there are those whos body chemistry will turn aluminum black right away - I can hear the screams now.

higher ohm coils dont produce better hit Big. This can be done with thin wires.

If you vape at 1ohm then you can operate proteus at 12-15 watt for best results. And the thinner the wire, the best throat. Also with a thin wire you can lower the watts even more so you extend battery life

What kind of wire are you using? Forget the ohms at the moment and consider this, to spare batteries on a VV/VW you have to go thin wire because thin wire heats up faster therefore you spare batteries by reducing your watts. Watts is what dictates battery life. for me a sweet spot of 16 watts of 28 gauge wire was achieved by 9 watts of 32 gauge wire HOWEVER both covering the same amount of wick (3.2mm is what i go for which is 10 wraps of 28 and 16 wraps of 32 both with id = 1.5). Now for some calculations: 16 wraps of 32 will give around 4.7 ohms which at 8 volts allows you to go up to 13.5 watts, which is well above my sweet spot at 9 watts giving me some room. To spare batteries ALWAYS aim at highest voltage limits this way it forces you to use thinner gauge wires for higher ohms and lower wattage.

Problem, problem: Some people (including me unfortunately) notice a flavor difference between thin and thick wires. Thick wire give me better flavor. I would say go with the thin wire, don't be afraid to go 3.0+ ohms, this is what will spare your batteries, but if you notice a flavor problem and you are used to 28- wires then tough luck, go with the 30 or 29 and target it will be a trade-off.

My never changing constant for single coil is the width (microcoil of course), sweet spot being 3.2mm I will post a small chart for people interested to know how many wraps this turns out to be:

gauge wraps to form 3.2mm
