I'm glad you guys are having this conversation about coil builds and battery safety, and the safe limits of Watts.

But nobody has mentioned the type of juice being vaped. My friend had a build of 0,2 ohms with an 18650 battery mechanical mod. All non-GG gear. And the juice was all VG based. I tried it and it was too intense for me. Even though VG by itself (not including nicotine) does not really provide throat hit, but a lot of visual vapor clouds.

If you know about ejuice, then you should know that VG is all about less throat hit and more clouds, and PG can provide more throat hit and less visual vapor (clouds).

As someone who makes his own ejuice, I add more PG to my juice for more throat hit. I don't need to sub-ohm to get the vaping satisfaction needed. A coil build between 1 to 1,5 ohms is good enough for me for good throat hit, and battery life, as long as I have my own ejuice with my own balance of PG/VG.

I know that some vapors use VG only ejuice and for those, sub-ohm is needed to get good throat hit. Don't forget about the type of juice being vaped, and how that can be factored in with your coil builds. Some claim more flavor with sub-ohm. And others claim more flavor with a 2,0 ohm build.

Everybody's different when it comes to vaping. And I'm glad we have our options to set up any kind of ohm coil we like. We cannot do that with a cigarette.

I am not a cloud chaser. And I don't need extreme sub-ohm set ups. I enjoy vaping, and I am able to achieve the satisfaction, even at 1,5 ohms at 10 Watts...sometimes more, sometimes less. And I am from Southern CA.

I fully agree........ and I'm from Greece

I agree as well, I do not do sub-ohm setups...

when I feel like more throat hit or extreme vaping, I just add a couple of drops of this:

to my home made e-liquid, for a sensation like this:

Not meaning to sound too rushed, but with this ridiculous FDA bill looming, I hope those parts for Proteus come in soon. It would be incredibly unfortunate if they rushed this bill through the system making Proteus illegal before we even get him.
I apologize that I'm not much of an optimist. I am with a lot of things, but not in regards to the government, the FDA, and their regulation of e-cigs.

If FDA feels like they are competent to regulate a metal tube with a switch, used to hold and activate batteries powering flashlite, laser beam heads, and sometimes a vaporising tank, I guess they'll be pretty busy in the future knowing that:
- seringe used by some drug addicts are legal
- herbs vaporizers used by some to smoke weed are legal
- plastic zip bags used to pack drugs are legal
- chlorine to clean chicken meat is legal
- artificial hormons to feed beef is legal
etc etc ....
seriously, they'd better fix what they're supposed to be expert at: food and drug. I don't eat neither sniff my proteus ;)

The ecig market already has flashlight heads with a 510 connector, so any mod with 510 connection can be a flashlight. And they can't say it isn't.

The FDA cannot win this war. The ecig market has grown too big. Any bans and regulations they try in the U.S. will just drive the market in other directions. Mainly they are trying to control the sales of liquid nicotine. Well black market or not...the ecig consumers in the U.S. will just buy overseas. If the FDA in correlation with government or BT says that nicotine/ejuice can only be bought in small capsules that can only be used on an ecig that they made...the U.S. consumers will just buy it cheaper from another country. Even if they say it's illegal, those countries will ship it to wherever. Other countries wouldn't care because they don't have to abide by U.S. laws. And they'll ship it in unmarked packaging. Nicotine sniffing dogs? Yeah that'll be the day.

I vape openly in bars where no smoking is allowed, and they are fine with it, even though a law has passed in my area that says that vaping and smoking are the same thing.

The ecig users in the U.S. must fight for their rights. And we will fight.

My concern is about this forum. ECF is a U.S. forum that has strict guidelines on talking about ecigs, and not talking about drugs or other illegal activities. So what are they to do if the only legal ejuice/nicotine to buy is from the government, at a high price. And everyone o ECF is saying to buy it cheaper from this other place...in another country. That in itself would then be talking about illegal activity.

Regardless, as long as someone else in the world is vaping, then I'm vaping too.

Sorry this post is off topic, so to keep on topic. I will say: I Love GG Products.
