I'm pretty sure Imeo once mentioned VIR for JGG. Would be a bigger chip and hence easier and cheaper to mass produce. What do you say imeo?:nun::rolleyes::wub:.
Yeah can imagine VIR on the bottom base [emoji7]

OK, let's start requesting extra parts for Proteus! :headbang:

# 1 - tube for 14650 batteries
# 2 - knurled AC ring
# 3 - Aluminum tubes

Let me advocate these requests:

- tube for 14650 batteries
14650 provides about 50% more duration and it'd be enough, but there's also an aesthetical reason, related to the use with Penelope with the original long body.
Proteus has the right proportion for Penelope Mini - Imeo knows very well, that's why he made the short tank for P3 - but the extra volume (1.5 ml) of the long tank may make the difference in terms of starting the day with (or without) the liquid bottle in the pocket...
Speaking for myself, Penelope's long body is enough for one day at work, Mini isn't.
Now, with the long Penelope, a longer tube would keep the right proportions.
BTW, even with a 15 mm. longer tube, Proteus would still be very small.

- knurled AC ring
I love the AC ring, it's one of the classic GG features, but the Proteus one is very small and difficult to operate, especially if you have big fingers; also, you risk to rotate the atom instead of the ring.
IMHO a knurled AC ring would be much easier to operate.

- Aluminum tubes
Well, this is related to my request for an Alu. button in the Cybrillon thread.
Most people like shining, perfect like new, objects.
But many people appreciate, too, the sign of time and use on the objects; japanese people call this kind of charme "Sabi".
The point is that Aluminum defects, like tarnishing or being "soft" (easy to mark), are no more defects, if you appreciate the "Sabi".
BTW, we all knows that Alu. is lighter and better conducting than SS.

I dont really disagree Otello. Buy you just give me more work to do now that I am stuck!!! lol

Ok, my plan is:

Cybrillion production AND Tilemahos X1 (20 days are needed)
urgent spares (1,5 month after Cybrillion production is needed)
Fat Tilemahos X1 AND longer Penelope V4 AND longer Proteus (2 months after urgent spares)

congratulations nandy!! I wish you a great vapinGGG season!

Thanks Imeo!!!

So far Proteus and VIR working as described. First tank vaped to completed wick dried, no burn taste, amazing. So easy to manage the menu if you want to or simply put the atomizer wait for the discovery to finish and vape just like that. The only downside is not Proteus related [emoji2], is the Penelope with it tight draw, oh man, I cant imagine how an amazing vape would be if the Penelope had a draw like the Tilemahos. [emoji30]

Imeo definitely the wait was worth every sec, min, hours, days, months and years that it last.

Thanks again for the great job done. [emoji106][emoji122][emoji108]

Of course, a new part request is a request to be queued in the to-do list. ;)

Hi there,
i've got some problems with my proteus concerning the VIR chip.
After inserting an accu (efest 14500 imr v2 700 with nipple) an attaching my penelope v4 (titan coil, 0.75ohm),
VIR recognized it properly (orange light flashing several times, then stays on for 2 seconds) everything fine, it vapes!

Problem is, when i detach the penelope to mount a different atty with titan-coil, VIR does not recognize that. No blinking green lights, no self-lock.
I've tried it several times, detached in locked mode, in vaping mode, changed the accu, etc. - nothing.
Then i made a new coil on the penelope with 0.95ohm and VIR does not recognize it.
It vapes, but in totally odd conditions. burned taste, can't reach the desired temperature, etc. - sure, the resistance is completely different.

What can i do now? Imeo?
Send in the VIR? Is there some kind of "cold reset" possible?

Thanks in advance!
Tobi

Hi no57 arrived today (i don't need the reserved 852)
I had initial problems caused by the instructions
"1. Battery Installation: Unscrew the venting cap and insert an 14500 IMR battery with the negative side towards to the atomizer and in an angle to avoid damage the electronic part."
That didn't sound correct so I watched the video and imeo defiantly has the + towards the atomizer which explains why I got no lights following the instructions .Putting the + at the atty end got it working .
I expected it to be the same width as the tilemahos which was stupid as the batteries I ordered were thinner than it so now I suppose I'm on the look out for a Penelope.
Its working great however:)
The temperature control had me confused a while, yes I'm coming across as stupid as 3 presses then hold for 1 second I was doing press press press hold which is 4 presses. Press press hold gets the temp control setting working.
My main disappointment was the conformist packaging. Whats this printed box about, I miss the traditional bit of bubblewrap and sticky tape :p

sorry to hear that you're having problems with your VIR. I've encountered issues upon receiving it as well (here and here)
It was kind of the other way around with me. VIR did either not "see" my atty at all or detected a short (while it was a perfect 1.0 Ohm Ti build, the one I'm vaping on right now).

As I've stated I don't know what really did the trick and made my VIR work (perfectly ever since, detection works like a charm, TC is perfect), but I've disassembled it entirely twice before it finally decided to detect my atty.
So what I did, except for the battery voodoo:
Cleaned all threads, took apart the spring loaded top cap, lubed the o-rings in there, "cleaned" the sides of VIR (where I guess it make negative contact). About that top cap: I had the suspicion that since it felt stuck anyway there might be a chance of the orings giving way when pushed down somewhat lopsidedly and that might have caused the short. I even took another look at Imeo's vid to make sure the positive pole should slide out from this top cap and is only held by orings - it didn't move so I was unsure. After taking it out and lubing those rings the spring loaded application works much smoother.

Maybe taking apart that top cap might help you, too. Have you tried screwing it off in your endeavor to make VIR see that there is no atty?

Regards and good luck!

Hi Woita,

thank you for your reply!
screwing off the top cap does not work either. Proteus does not recognize detaching and attaching.
the spring loaded connection works smooth. the rest of the menue in VIR works. in- or decreasing temperature - no problem, all connections and threads are cleaned as well.

so i'm stuck now, because there is no way to make proteus loose it's data manualy. :(
any other suggestions?

Thx,
Tobi

Thies, please do the following and inform me back:

put a battery inside Proteus
let it lock by itself
put an atomizer
unlock
wait for the autodetection
vape

Also, on temp control in general, there is always problem with a bad made atomizer: If 1-2 threads go red hot, it means that you will have burn taste because wick is not touching all threads the same. So its a wick problem or coil's problem because coil's threads are not equal made.

Dont forget that the wick has to be lossy inside coil
