Hey Guys ....

A special thanks, to I believe APO and the help of TDM on this little project :)

This USB extension will be sold as an *add on* to current Protege's ... Pretty much turns your Protege, into a PassThrough :)

Although we will continue to sell PT's that are exclusively just PT's, we tried to figure out a lower cost alternative to those that already owned 1 device, and didn't want to pay for a completely new and separate device.

Should be available hopefully within the next month or so :)

Let me know your thoughts :) Thanks!

Freaking awesome Steve and others who came up with this nifty little add on... I will have to get one just for the heck of it...

Maybe keep it in my car for times when my batteries might get left at home.... hint hint Steve... but yea... I like... Very cool...

Hey you could get one of those USB power sources that you can turn up to 6v and get more out of the Protege after all... hey now we are talking...

EWWW THE BUTTON! lol jk jk :p

thicker tube! i can see those threads (that i ...never mind) from here! don't make the threads on the adapter end different, just the od thickness... but this goes for the protege and the PT... i'm not gonna stop bothering you till you do :p lol gotta take pride in "done right in america" steve! i bet hot roll stainless is cheap enough to make the right OD/ID thicknesses and threads. only problem is the end-cap threads and diameter would have to grow.

Yes i know it's not as important on the PT as the Protege, but i know you made it this way is volume discounts. make them both right, i stop whining :p haha don't make me link the thread picture again & the how to...

i'm really just giving you a hard time steve. i would like to see it done "right" in my own mind but this is my 2 cents, and it's worthless to most. the current threads work. in my mind they will fail eventually. it might even take longer for them to fail than for me to find another toy to play with. right now i change batteries at least once a day, maybe twice... given the usage of this there just wasn't enough thread engagement to make me comfortable. that's only because of my machinist background. to everyone else out there that knows nothing about threading, machining, etc it doesn't mean anything and probably wouldn't know what went wrong when the threads would fail either. take all my griping about the threads with a grain of salt. i love the protege, it's done me (mostly) right so far. i know i was in the slight percentile of people with the button problem but i fixed mine myself... and never really said much about it.

other than the threads, and the cool new button, it's a perfect idea to use the same adapters and body to make a pass through.

also if it's 5v, and goes to 4.2 under load... what does a fully charged protege (14500) do under load in general? is there a way to check this easily? (i wasn't good with electrical... haha but know *some* basics)

Looks great Steve, can't wait to get one!

How's it coming on the mechanical switch for the Protege?

And the kr808 adapters for 'em?

And the...gimme a minute, I'll think of something else..;-)

Steve is making a mechanical switch for the Protege???? Will those of us that have the first batch get to obtain one of these????? I'm so scared my switch is gonna go all the time. I have one from the first batch and I don't know if it's the plastic one or which one it is. So far it seems to be doing okay. It was doing weird things a few times, but seems to have worked itself out. I still love my Protege! Hubby thinks the Protege is hot.

bAtteries died on My keyboArd but i just had to say this is AWsoMe (CoPied  & PAsted letters)

Ok batteries are back in my keyboard. Man wireless keyboards are so dumb I don't know why I own one.

Anyway once again - damn. That thing is great. It just phased out the prodigy and the pt for me in one shot. I'm all about it.
