Just go the 18650 2500mAh Li-Ion battery yesterday from Provape and charged it all night. Took it to work today and got 8.5hrs out of the battery. Just swapped out the battery with the 18650 1600mAh battery I purchased with the Provari and am still smiling. Man I love this thing :)

what the hell, i got 2.5 days out of the new 2500 battery i got

I've used VV, and like it, but the Provari seemed too pricey to me. I got the new VMod and so far I do just as well by changing from (for instance) a 1.8 atty to a 2.8 or 3 for different results. The VMod is $75.

Vmod is mechanical, just a direct connection to the battery. As your battery dies your vape dies as well.
The Provari is voltage regulated, meaning that the voltage you dial it to will be the operating voltage til the battery safety circuit activates. So no matter what the condition of your battery the same consistent vaping experience will be had. I'm sure the Vmod is a nice PV no doubt, but it lacks ability to dial in any atomizer/carto setup like the ProVari. Beyond the performance side of things the ProVari also reads atomizer resistance and checks battery voltage. Now Provape has a 2500mAh battery that last forever too, I sure have no regrets about purchasing a ProVari. It was money well spent.

Next on my list once i get my ProVari is to try these 2500mAh batteries. I'm hoping they perform as well as the AW IMR 18650s with longer battery life. Not too bad in price either compared to the AW IMR 18650s.

i think there is a chart that shows the performance... initially the IMR 18650 shoots up in performance, and quickly levels with the 2500mah Provari Power, from there on PP maintains IMR-like performance and carries it out over a much longer time frame. This is similar to the P18650 AW's that fit and are button top. New info... protected AW's are a better bet.The 2900 AW doesn't perform as well as the 2600 btw.
A key is getting them to fit. Some are too long.

Any problem with using a 901LR with adapter on the ProVari? This thread is really making me want to give it a try.

absolutely not.... no problems. I use SR 901 all the time. I imagine the LR901 is safe enough... not too low resistance to activate amp limiter; at least not to keep you from vaping it.

absolutely ... imo... 2.8 Ohm are great at anywhere from 3.7 v to 4.5v
I use dse 901's ... my favorite. they don't seem to leak as much, and the vape/draw is more consistent. ymmv.
2.8 to 3.0 Ohm has the widest range of use. I find the HV 901's get hot at 5v and up. ymmv.
Oh, If you chain vape, they will die in about a week... i hear people go a month,, but never for me. So i buy in bulk. USA bulk vendor is Vapor King.
Would it be better to use the regular 901's?

I sold one of my two first run Vari's... Nov '10... because I was on list for the Eclipse eq ($300)... but i had 2 so that is one easy instance.

What ended up is that the Eclipse was a first run fail, so I bought a new Vari... :)
When i bought the Provari, there was no other regulated power, boosted, VV like it.
Then came the Darwin.
Now there is Buzz Pro and the upcoming Infinity P... and VVPV.
ALso there is a couple box bottom feeders (monkey box, red sky - i think) and some smaller, plastic boxes: Sgt. Army Tank II ( i got it) and Krimson Kustoms. Which don't have LED readouts.
The Merlin from Mamu looks so sweet too.
This is all the latest generation in my view. I really like my Buzz Pro too.

ok you convinced me I ordered one

lol

Seriously, I know about all those other things out there, but at this point in time I can't imagine ever wanting or needing anything else. I don't think anything could truly be better than my provari topped with a liquinator. If I ever buy another mod it will definitely be another provari.

I am sorry to hear that the eclipse didn't work out though. It looked like it had a lot of potential, but in the end I think the simplicity of the provari works better for me than all the flash the eclipse was purported to have.
