I love my Triton system, but keep hearing about polycarbonate tank degradation and BPA- especially with sweeter juices, so want to try a Pyrex tank. The ViviNova looks like a winner, but I wouldn't know where to buy replacement parts- unless it is disposable, or which ones, so will probably get a ProVari and a couple ProTanks to test out. Thanks for all the info.

It's not sweeter juices, per se, it's ones with certain ketones like cinnamon, banana, cola, and those high in citric acid. Since vendors use different recipes and other factors (like flavor shots) have to be considered, not every potential tank cracking juice will actually crack a tank.

EEEKKK! What happened to my tank?

The replaceable part on the Vivi Nova is the base, just like a Protank (only it's a top coil). You could buy them from the same vendor you buy the Vivi Nova from.

The MadVapes page that has the Pyrex Vivi Nova doesn't say which coil heads to use, unless all top-coil coil heads are the same, other than ohm rating.

There can be different shaped heads (depending on whether the Vivi is a Vision, and what version), but the Mad Vapes site only appears to sell one style (the flat top) and there's no indication it won't fit in the tanks they sell.

It only replaces the tank, not the shaft, so you just continue to use the Nova heads.

EDIT: Err, maybe I'm wrong about that now that I look at them more closely. I don't see the knurling that the Nova has on the caps. Still though, I have to imagine the standard Nova heads will work.

Got it. Only option seem to be the ohm ratings.

Yeah, it's like this:

(copy and paste)
This is a Vivi Nova showing the components of a top coil clearomizer. The wicks draw the liquid in the tank up to the replaceable heating element (head). Vivi Novas are sometimes called “tanks” (because they hold liquid), but operate like any other top coil clearo. The wicks come in various lengths and the heads in different resistances.

The resistance you select would be determined by your battery. Is it VV? In any case, you can't go wrong with the middle, which at MadVapes I think is 2.4Ω.

ETA: The Pyrex one has a metal sleeve around the tube.

These would be for a ProVari, which I don't believe is VV.
Upon closer inspection, the coils at MV are for the Vision ViviNova, but the tanks don't say they are Vision tanks, just Vivi Nova. There probably isn't a difference, though. If there is, I can't imagine why they would sell tanks, but no replacement coil heads for them.

The ProVari is VV.

I'm sure the tanks aren't Vision, it would say if they were since it's a selling point. MadVapes is good about clearly describing their products, so I think it would say in the listing if it needed different heads.

A ProVari is variable voltage. If you don't mind my asking, why are you considering a ProVari since it doesn't seem like you've done much research about it?

The Z-Atty pro is too much work. Reviews also say it leaks like a sieve. I don't want to re-build anything, just toss out a bad coil/wick, and replace. Kayfun- same thing. Can't tell if the Penelope has replaceable parts, or if I have to cut wicks and mess around with coils. I really want to find a glass or quartz top coil clearomizer with replaceable coil heads before I buy a ProVari, but it seems no one makes one yet.

Then you've never used a Zen type RBA. Enough said.

Yeah I probably wouldn't spend the money on a Provari either if I had no plans to expand to other devices. Hell I crossed my arms and put my fingers in my ears (hard to do with your arms crossed......try it) and hated the hell out of cartos. Then at the suggestion of many users I tried the Ikenvape platinum carto and IB tank combo and Holly H.E. Double Hockey Sticks! On a lot of juices I would be hard pressed to take my killer or Kayfun over it. There's a lot of great devices and holding to just one type (especially one that doesn't exist) is really limiting the experience. But to each his own. I'm sure there's a lot of folks who feel that the sun rises and sets on the Blu.

Sorry apparently it does exist

Dang, it may just be time to quit reading vaping forums. I just googled "Holly H.E. Double Hockey Sticks" to see if it was some new kind of mod that I could use.

DOH!

It's a limited edition. You need to get verified so you can check the classies.

ETA: never mind, I see that you are verified - but you'll still have to sit on the listings everyday for several months waiting to click as soon as one is posted.

I just wanted a device to use with Pyrex tanks. Haven't really heard of any others, other than ProVari. Just now looked at their site and see they have several models.

Any device that has a 510 connection can be used on any other device with a 510 connection. A Vivi Nova and a Protank (for example) will both work on an eGo (although, to some, the Protank is a bit top heavy). This is an eGo, but it illustrates the battery connection. A ProVari has a 510, but does not have the external "eGo" threading:
