No but if doesn't work with the Russian it would have nice to know. I have read a thousand threads where folks on the site use both and love them.
Actually if I were Provape I would come up with a better policy then email the customer having to be put out with having to send it back for them fix with the topper and the battery.

I own and run different businesses and value my customers. So i hope this answers your question. If your post was an attempt at humor I didn't find it humorous. If it was sarcasm shame on you !!!

Now go back and reread this thread. Others have told you how to fix the russian to work with the provari. What have you got to loose by giving it a shot. If that doesn't work try another topper.

If the other topper does not work then you KNOW it is the provari not the topper. Contact provape and do what they tell you when you supply the information that it is not topper dependent.

Those are really your only choices here.

I get that you do not like Provape's business model and it is not how you would do things. Unfortunately it is their business and their choice how to run it not yours. Your only choice is to do business with them or not. They are famous for turning around repairs in a week which really is not so bad. If that is too long for you I really do not know what to tell you.

Boy... you're sure hell bent on blaming provape because you have an issue with your russian.

I wonder if you would blame the russian if it was a problem with your provari (which is very unlikely).

If you ran someone over with your car, would you blame them for being in your way?

:)

I think if he realy wanted to get to the bottom of it, he would have tried his nautilis long ago, and posted his findings in a matter of minutes.

It's obviouse he has a problem with provape for some reason, and feels that they should be responsible for someone elses product.

Beets me...???

This issue is not an operator error. I clearly know how many times i hit the power button. The frustrating part is it happens while the button is engaged. I never receive any error codes such as E1, E2 . It just goes into different various menus as if it has a mind of its own.

It is either the atomizer you have attached, the coil build, resistance, and placement of that coil, or the positive and or negative terminals of the atty.

Or it is simply user error.

Just to chime in on the excellence of ProVapes customer service....I had a problem with my new ProVari within days of delivery, it started reading ohms at all sorts of wonky levels, causing many error messages. A bunch of wonderful folks here helped me troubleshoot, including MonsterKenny ( the very nice guy that oversees the ProVape sub forum). Finally it was decided that it was unfortunately a bad chip..send it back! Well I got it returned in less than a week in perfect working order.

Rest assured OP, if you do need to return the ProVari for service that service will be quick and worry free.

Good luck getting everything working!

Also the - - you are seeing is always displayed between all of the menu options.

So there is PU (Power Up) the the - - then PD (Power down) then the - - and so on.

So whatever you are doing you are accessing the menu system. You are more than likely Weak Fingering the button causing it to be actuated multiple times calling up the menu system.

I'd call that USER ERROR. IMG_0200.jpg

IMG_0201.jpg

So please check how you are pressing the button and stop bad mouthing the Provari and Provape for your mistakes.

Thanks.

Happy vaping.

I just can't bite my tongue any more.
Many Provari owners make you feel as if one bad word will get you beaten bloody. j/k

You on the other hand refuse to take any responsibility as to the fact you have little to no diagnostic skills and just assume Provape should bend over. <oh, and I do not own one - just ask a few around here>
I do know the build and build quality. Bar none, one of the best built Regulated mods period. Even so, there is the off chance it has an issue - a very off chance.

I also know RBA tanks - Kayfun/Russian style in particular. For the mechanically inclined they are very simple devices. For the novice they can be daunting.
Have you even checked the coil connection? Bet Not
Have you Metered the Russian? Bet not
Have you removed and cleaned the adjustment screw, center pin or any thing? Bet not
Have you even cleaned the threads on the Provari to be sure you have good grounding?

What, if anything, have you done besides email provape and post here complaining?:glare:

I would have had the Russian either confirmed as or eliminated as the issue in less than 10 minutes.

OK,
So this has turned into a pissing match which is not solving the problem.
1- Russian is not a clone- It is authentic (from the other part of the original Kayfun team) I don't buy clones any more. I know someone will say that the Russian is a clone when in fact it is a direct competitor of Kayfun. There may be clones but mine isn't one.
2- The customer service person @Provape didn't bother to trouble shoot the problem. I personally found this to be less than the best customer service.
3-Until the start of this post I have never read about negative experiences of the Provari and the Russian or the Kayfun. Why lay down 200 dollars and be back to square one. Yes I know that vaping is very new. It would have been nice to know the potential drawbacks going in.
Hind site is 20/20
4- Changing to the Nautilus to see if the problem exists is not the best and first option as the is issue is very intermittent. There may be no immediate answer to what is causing this issue. It may or may not happen on the Nautilus the same way it may only occur once or twice a day on the authentic Russian.
5- I feel I am entitled to have an opinion even if it goes against those that feel differently.
6-Would any of you want to be without your cell or computer for a little over a week
7- If in fact it is the unit and not the topper and Provape returns it with a solution then all well and good. I will then purchase a second one so if anything happens in the future I won't have compromise my vaping preferences.

Thanks to all of you that had positive input I think I know a lot more about the issue. To the rest what can I say your posts speak for your character.

Initially I had issues with my Russian doing this on my Provari. It would work but then show an error. I fixed my pin long ago and it works fine. Sometimes I have to adjust the bottom screw slightly. But it wasn't that hard to figure out. You use process of elimination and eventually you will find the source of the problem.

Honestly, from what you've stated it sounds like you are pressing the firing button either slightly or off center. I get that if I'm not paying attention. If its 'PU' you are getting then that's the menu. 'po' is power off. Which means your finger was giggly on the button and went through the menu system. It won't fire or Vape if it's in the menu.

Provape has superior customer service. You need to be sure it's actually the device and not your Russian or user error first. Provape can't fix the Provari if it's actually your Russian causing the problems. There are ways to adjust things to make the Russian work on the Provari. It's not hard at all but you have to be willing.

Have you tried your nautilus on the device yet? If it works fine then you know it's the Russian and thus it's your center pin that needs adjusting. Do a simple you tube search for that. There are several good tutorials on ways to easily fix that step by step.

The Russian on a Provari is an awesome Vape and well worth any effort. Just saying.

Last I checked, a Russian is a counterfeit of a Kayfun, made in the PRC, whereas the Kayfun is made in Germany. The makers of the Kayfun have nothing to do with the Russian, other than it was their design which was counterfeited... There is a world of difference between PRC machining and German machining... Pins of different lengths, for instance...

It is not a pissing match. you contacted Provape and they ask you to send them both the Provari and the atomizer you are using so they can do a diagnostic on both of them. It seems you have refused to do that. So what do you expect them to do?

That's like calling a car dealer and saying I have a problem with my new car, what are you going to do about it. Them saying bring it in and we will find the problem and fix it and you say NO I don't want to bring it in.

Does this only happen after you refill with juice? I ask because that's when mine needs the screw adjusted from time to time. The screw tightens when you unscrew it to take it off, causing the screw to go further up into the atomizer. Slightly unscrew it and it fixes the issue.

Neither here nor there since you were told how to fix it.

You are entitled to your opinion on that.

3-Until the start of this post I have never read about negative experiences of the Provari and the Russian or the Kayfun. Why lay down 200 dollars and be back to square one. Yes I know that vaping is very new. It would have been nice to know the potential drawbacks going in.

Then you did not do enough reserch. There have been threads where people have been less than thrilled about pretty much EVERY device out there including hte Provari.

4- Changing to the Nautilus to see if the problem exists is not the best and first option as the is issue is very intermittent. There may be no immediate answer to what is causing this issue. WHo cares how long it takes it still needs to be done to troubleshoot what is going on.

5- I feel I am entitled to have an opinion even if it goes against those that feel differently.
Of course you are and we are allowed to agree or disagree with it

6-Would any of you want to be without your cell or computer for a little over a week
That is why most of us have more than one device so that we CAN be without one for awhile if necessary.

7- If in fact it is the unit and not the topper and Provape returns it with a solution then all well and good. I will then purchase a second one so if anything happens in the future I won't have compromise my vaping preferences.

If P

If it is the Provari Provape WILL fix it and return it. Thing is right now you have not done enough troubleshooting to be sure that is what is wrong. We are trying to tell you how to troubleshoot it and you seem unwilling to do it.

Okay, I got miffed. It happens. I still read little that says this cannot be figured out.
Never said it was or was not the Provari
Clearly said Mechanics are simplest to evaluate. obviously micro circuitry is much more difficult.

You say you have an eVic.
Why not go ahead and use the Russian on it for a while and use the Nautilus on the Provari to see what happens?
With the Russian at 1.8 and the Nautilus can be matched, you should get some sort of indication over time.

Best of luck however you handle it.

Vape on, I'm out!:)

Not true. The original Kayfun team split. The group that made the russian went to PRC and made some modifications . One being the adjustable airflow screw. Kayfun has now adopted that feature on the latest 3.1. I agree about the difference in machining but not in this case. Issue I now beliieve is with the pin in the Russian. Kayfun doesn't have an adjustable pin.
So If the Russian is a problem and the kayfun isn't a fit on the Provari then I am SOOL because I don't enjoy the stock tanks and not into dripping.
DO some further reseach on the Russian and the Kayfun and you learn that you are misinformed . Thanks for your input.

No, that is a vaping urban legend. The Russian is a counterfeit; the makers of the Kayfun didn't split and have nothing to do with the Russian...

It seems eGo style batteries and clearos may be more appropriate for your needs...

Actually my Russian and my Kayfun both work perfectly on my Provari. The Kayfun screw doesn't come loose like my Russian does. The adjustable pin is easy to adjust too. Just look it up on you tube. It took me less than 4 minutes to make my Provari work with my Russian.

To me, the Russian 91 works better than my Kayfun. Both are authentic. I just love how the Russian works, and to me, the taste is better. The Kayfun and Taifun GT come both in second place. I recently picked up a Fogger 4 and it's good too, but nothing compares to my Russian on my Provari. It's worth fixing and troubleshooting.

I don't understand the point here! It doesn't really matter. I have both. Both were expensive and work great. What matters is does it work for you. If it does then its authentic to you. Some claim it's authentic, some claim it's a clone. Sure, by how we judge Vape gear it's a clone of the Kayfun. But it's a very expensive clone that works better than the original. That's my opinion from my experiences. I have both and the Russian is just awesome. Don't get me wrong, the Kayfun is good too, but my Russian is a tad more tastier with the juice.

It all comes down to build quality and inconsistent manufacturing...
