Hi all,

General newb here but was wondering about the Provari. Everyone with more than 4 or 5 days vaping has heard of it and everyone seems to want one and it's touted as the best PV on the market thus far........ But........ a few questions: A) is it really worth the money? (follow along and I'll ask why). B) What makes it better than a Lava Tube? C) Does anyone think a reversed engineered China product could have the same specs and features at a better price?

The REASON I'm asking is that I've found a Chinese product recently that has the same exact specs as a Provari V2 for an amount none of you would believe. I think they've done it to us again. These Chinese companies offer a service where, if you place an order over a certain amount, they will emboss your company logo on their product, making it appear it's your own product. Is Provari really made in the U.S.?

I only say this because a local supplier (remaining nameless) has purchased thousands of products from China and had their name embossed on the items and now tout them as having been created by their R&D department - which they don't have. They also sell Provari v2's at U.S. prices, but obviously, I don't trust that.

Back to the Provari. This Chinese company can provide a product with identical specs to the Provari v2 at about 1/6th the cost and can put whatever name you want on the item, provided you order enough units. I guess what I'm asking is this: The Provari unit is really just a fancy battery case (like a flashlight) with an intelligent head that can tell when the voltage is too low or there's a short. Sure, you can adjust the voltage, but it's really nothing else. Is it REALLY worth $159 dollars for a fancy flashlight holder?

Kill me if you must......

LOL Kay. I know, but it's a question that's been bugging me for the last couple of weeks. I've read the reviews, seen all the YouTube vids and am an ardent supporter of Provari, but.....can't justify the price if I can find an identical product elsewhere much cheaper. I mean.....I spent 24+ years in the military and am as patriotic as anyone, but why do people shop at Walmart? To get cheaper prices for stuff they already buy. Why buy Provari when Ying Yang has the same thing for $60?

Regardless of how good that product may or may not be (I'd personally side with not as good), some of us will pay more for an American-made product. Of course you don't live in America so you have no understanding of this concept.

Kay was right....I AM getting creamed....LOL I lived in America for 41 years and spent most of those in the U.S. military so I DO have an understanding of that concept. I would agree that foreign made knock off's are probably not as good as the items they are made to replicate but paying for an American product just for the sake of paying for an American product is a feeling I've lost years ago. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America........but I still have to watch my wallet.

Unless you have both in your hands, and I do have both, you'll never know. Everything from China seems to ne mass produced and quality control makes it pretty difficult. Provari has been along for awhile now and only went up to v2. The lava tube is up to what.... v4 in the last year. That's a tell tale sign of the quality of the product if it has to be revised that many times. There is another lava tube on the horizon which makes that v5. It is just self explanitory. In a year you would only have 1 Provari, hypothetically speaking, if you encounter the bug that needs to be revised on the lava tube that means you would be on #4 or 5 when the LT 2 comes out. So 1/6 of the price for an innferior product is not worth the headache.

Crakt I have both the provari and the lavatube. My lavatube has been used for one week and has sat alone for 5 months (both batts dead). It is a great entry level VV for the price. I have had my provari for over a year and it hasn't sat unused for longer than a day or two when I used my ego tube for quick convenience. The provari is a tank!!! It is amazing quality construction for the price. I will probably be buying another (not because anything is wrong with the first, cause you can't kill them) just cause i want another color...LOL. If you can get to local or close vape meets though, attend. These will usually give you the opportunity to use many of the popular PV's out there as everyones tastes are different. They are all big investments so try to see them in person and decide. GL!! Happy vaping!

You get cheap prices at WalMart because you're buying a cheap product. One that you know may or may not last you throughout the month. It's cheap 'Ying Yang' stuff and you know it before you even buy it. You know that a month or so down the road it's gonna crap out on you. We here in the US don't make much anymore...and that's a REAL shame on us! But what we DO make is good quality.

And you ain't seen NOTHIN yet Dude! Most of the Provari owners are still at work!

This is gonna be better than a gory B movie! I'll sit back and watch now........

That's what does it for me. We have to support these companies that still are American owned, American designed, and American built. It's the same reason I buy SureFire flashlights and Oakley sunglasses. Sure you can buy lesser quality Chinese stuff for pennies on the dollar compared to the real deal but it doesn't mean the same performance and quality is behind it. With as bad as the economy is, if you have the dollars put it where it counts for a quality product.

If the product was crap I wouldn't support the company though.

Kay, you're gonna kill me.....BUT....earlier today, I ordered 5 Chinese "Provari v2" models with DCT Tanks and 10 extra carto's + a 10 pack of CE4's + 15 bottles of 10ml Dekang juice for $258 delivered. I can't even touch a supposed 'real' Provari v2 here for less than $300. I may be disappointed, but there's always beer........
