Does the Stealth Mini come in a case?

best regards, larry mac

No. The full sized 2.0 I got off the classys was in a case, but I'm sure that was purchased later. It was, however, in a velvet pouch that I wouldn't be surprised was original. The pouch is the perfect size, so doesn't seem like it would be something one would have lying around the house.

While the Priority Box the mini came in had VF's return address, it was packaged exactly like they come from ProVape: bubble wrap with warning notices about only using one battery (and whatever the other one is) wrapped around it in-between the bubble wrap layers. It even had a ProVape sticker on it, which was interesting. This is the 2.5 Stealth mini right out of the box, before I took off the bubble wrap:

I guess it was traveling undercover...

VF does say "We made the finish more durable." So perhaps it's not about the number of coats.

"We've made the finish more durable, and blackened the end caps. At our request, they've also added a custom smoked window and solid black power button that allows for less visibility at night. We're excited that ProVape took on a partnership with us and produced this special unit for us to offer to our customers."

There is no indication of what was done to the finish to make it "more durable." The only other mention of the finish was in the list of features.

This exclusive VaporForce ProVari Edition features:

Unique triple-coated matte black finish
Black triple-coated end caps
Custom darkened window deepens a blue LED display by 50%
Custom black firing button will not emit light
Selectable voltage from 2.9 to 6.0 volts

I wonder what makes the coating unique? And the Selectable Voltage listed is standard on the 2.5.

Don't get me wrong, I love my little Stealth and not the least bit disappointed, I'm just curious.

My thoughts exactly. I'm a realist at heart & extremely skeptical about advertising. Most of the time I notice those little nuances in the language they use & have a general idea of what they are/aren't allowed to get away with by law.

For example (not VF directed, just in general)
"A unique finish" could mean they spit shined it for you. It really doesn't say much of anything at all. "We made ... more durable" has to mean they actually did something to it to make it more durable, in their perception.

Cerakote is a trademarked name, but there are other products on the market (mostly for gun finishes, as Cerakote was designed for) that are similar. It's become somewhat of a generic name, from my understanding, not to the extent of but similar to things like Teflon. The only thing we actually know for certain is that they both claim 'triple coating'. From your post ProVape says 3 coats of Cerakote. VF does not specify what those coats are (is one a hardener or protective coating for example). Are they both applying the finish in the same thicknesses per layer? There's a lot of variables to consider & the language used by both doesn't answer a lot of questions when you pick it apart.

Either way, food for thought. I've got way too many other things on my plate to be specifically concerned enough to swap some emails about it & other very important things to think about (like cheese).

This is why I haven't bought one yet. When the whole Steath thing started I read that same post and thought the same thing. I guess I'm holding out for the HAIII version. Then we can own a Provari that truly conforms to some kind of real Mil-Spec.

Excuse me for being dumb, but what is HAIII?
