hey OP, i guess you're right though, an empire shield will handle the leaks and you can suck it back into the atty... it's a good way to ensure no leaks, i guess, as i haven't used it on the Vari yet anyway.
Well move things over here so we have a central location for all chat related to the new ProVari Variable Voltage device.
Friday I'll post some images of a few prototypes that are coming off the machines. There might be a few modifications between these and the final production parts but atleast you can have a look and get some idea of what it looks like.

Hi CyberDj,
I also had several problems with the Darwin and ordered a Provari yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it has shipped today. I should receive at the beginning of next week. I hope this device will live up to my expectations.
very cool T.O.... i was actually thinking of others who might read this, and it's easy to forget, with a regulated variable pv, that you had it set high, and if you put a new atty on that has lower resistance than the last ( i tend to go up in voltage as the atty gets older too).
sorry about your experience with Darwin...
I have accidentally switched between LR and HV atties a couple times, and all it's ever done to me is immediately throw an error without firing, until I lower the voltage...
I threw 8 or 10 drops of 100mg juice in there to spike the nic a bit -- this is just great!
