I use a drip shield on mine, keeps me from having to wipe out the well when I drip a little too much. Use a modders 510 connection between the 510 atty and provari. I won't post a link to another vender in this thread but if you can figure out MV or AV, those are two places that have a modders connector. It's listed as a Shorty 510 extention on one site and modders connector on another.

Well move things over here so we have a central location for all chat related to the new ProVari Variable Voltage device.

Friday I'll post some images of a few prototypes that are coming off the machines. There might be a few modifications between these and the final production parts but atleast you can have a look and get some idea of what it looks like.

Stay Tuned

OP: Vape360,

I can't thank you enough for pointing me to the ProVari Variable Voltage device. I was using it with eGo-T's and that setup was the pinnacle for me. I found the ProVari to be perfect just the way it was. I certainly hope this thread will continue for the benefit of others.

P.S. I know I paid for the thing but if there is ever anything I can do for you, drop me a line.

Hey T.O., the Vari does everything it is described to do... I've had 2 since December last, avg at least 6ml juice a day, and go through 2 18650 batts a day.
I'm hard on my Vari's, but they take it like it was nothing. I have a Pila charger and 9 18650's (4 in reserve).
Tip: make sure you lower the voltage before you put a new atty on; even to test the resistance. If it's a regular (2.2 to 2.8 Ohm) and you have the voltage up over 4.0v, you could overheat the coil.

Hi CyberDj,
I also had several problems with the Darwin and ordered a Provari yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it has shipped today. I should receive at the beginning of next week. I hope this device will live up to my expectations.

Hi ukeman,

I am so excited the tracking shows I will receive my Provari on Monday. I am surprised at how fast I am going to get it because I was expecting to wait a week or two. I am glad because I had to revert back to my flashlight mod because of all the problems I am having with the Darwin.

I ordered two of each battery and the extension and figured that would be sufficient. I plan on ordering the Tank-O-Matic Liquinator this weekend so I can vape my head off at home with the larger batteries and use the short batteries and an atty when in public.

I hope they decide to have another $20.00 discount for previous buyers so I can order a backup if the device is as good as everyone says.

I appreciate the advice on the new atty, but I am not a newbie, I have been vapeing for over two years, and have been mixing my own juice for over a year. I just do not post often, that is why my post count is so low. I prefer to use the search function to find answers rather than ask the same question others have.

very cool T.O.... i was actually thinking of others who might read this, and it's easy to forget, with a regulated variable pv, that you had it set high, and if you put a new atty on that has lower resistance than the last ( i tend to go up in voltage as the atty gets older too).

sorry about your experience with Darwin...

I have accidentally switched between LR and HV atties a couple times, and all it's ever done to me is immediately throw an error without firing, until I lower the voltage...

i'm loving my "reg'" attys... 2.2 510 or moreso 2.8 901's... but i have some HV's that start out at 4.+v and up.. the way i go through attys, i'm paranoid of wasting one more vape off of them.

just got the provari on Saturday -- threw one of my 2.3 ohm joye 510s on there and dropped in some of my 36mg unflavored juice -- found the sweet spot to be right around 4.3-4.7 volts -- nice warm sweet flavor and lots of vapor (without having to prime it twice and then take two full drags like on my ego...)

then today I got a bottle of caramel cappuccino from kickbass -- and my new map tank... the combination of the three is better than I ever expected vaping could be!!!

the caramel cappuccino was only 6mg (wanted to concentrate more on flavor for a while) so I threw 8 or 10 drops of 100mg juice in there to spike the nic a bit -- this is just great!

well it's 8 or 10 drops inside of a map tank that's already got like 4.5 mils of juice in it -- and only 6mg juice -- so if I had to guess I'd say that 1/3 mil of 100mg juice I added probably bumps the nic on the whole map tank up to about 12mg, but without losing any flavor (what I like to use 100mg juice for)

Hi CyberDj,

Everything was great with the Darwin the first month before I started having problems. I had to send it back and forth several times and new issues cropped of each time I received it back. I just got tired of messing with it and decided to purchase the ProVari. I liked the Darwin and will probably buy another one after the device matures a little more. I believe I must be the unluckiest Darwin owner because I still read glowing reviews, and have not read about anyone having really any issues. I really do not want to go into details because I believe I am an anomaly and I like that there is competition in the market. If my lifestyle was different, and I did not travel so much I would have stuck with the Darwin, but I need a device I can count on, and with the Darwin I started carrying around a backup device and batteries. I purchased the Darwin over the ProVari because I was tired of carrying extra batteries and the uncertainty negated this advantage.

I received my ProVari today and I must say it has excellent fit and finish. Somehow when I was doing my initial research before buying the Darwin I missed that the ProVari was constructed of stainless-steel because I would have factored that into my decision. It is also considerably smaller than I expected which is a pleasant surprise. I wear a medium size glove and with the standard battery the device bottom rest nicely on my little finger and the button is where my thumb naturally rest. If I was to have a device custom made it would have these same dimensions. I was apprehensive at first about buying the larger batteries and the extension, but I wanted to have as much battery life as possible so I did. With the extension on the device fits perfectly in my hand and dose not protrude below my little finger. It dose weigh more than I expected, but I like the balance and the heft. I am also happy to say that it vapes wonderfully and the controls are easy to work.

I ordered a Tank-O-Matic Liquinator for the ProVari, and it shipped today. I am excited about using a tank when working on the computer, which is my profession. I was afraid to use a tank with the Darwin because of how the connector arm worked and was located because the fear of a leak. I know many people use them, but I never felt comfortable.

From my initial experience with the ProVari, I absolutely love the device and if things go well for a month or two I plan on purchasing a backup. Only time will tell.

Hi TO,

I had the similar situation with the Darwin but after a few days of usage. I also thought that I must be one out of a million to have a problem but then I relaized why people probably do not post on problems re the Darwin: Evolv has a splendid customer support. Very fast, very friendly. When I had issues with first device they sent me another one in a day (don't forget that I live in Europe). When I had issues with that too they repaired and send back to me. Unfortunately that one did not turn out working properly so I sent it back and asked for refund.
You are embarased to speak about problems when a company is so friendly and supportive. I really do hope that they will come over with the initial glitches and I also will be able to buy a Darwin II or whatever they might come up with. The device, the idea is by the way just great. Probably a bit ahead of time.

There is another device which would be ground breaking the 3D Alpha. Unfortunately its release is contiously postponed since January. Probably there is some mass production issues, too.

So at the end I went for the Provari (this was my initial choice and of last year but then I heard about the Darwin). This little device is just awsome. Someone who already tasted the functions and usability of a Darwin these features are not new. But the quality of assembly, materials etc makes you feel good everytime you get your hand on it.

I was a bit concerned about the battery life. I read some stories of 2-3 hours before going dead. Mine is just great! I vaped 9 hours on 3.7v and then with a regular 510 12 hours on 5V. I use the 18650 batteries from Provape.

My current mission is to get something which feeds the juice. I like dripping but there are certain situation when it is very inconvenient and it is also problematic to have your little bottles on you all the time. MAP tank is not an option as I hate the CE2 taste. Liquinator sounds good but I am not a man of cutting wholes on cartos + I do not like the taste of cartomizers. I was considering a Vapemate but my provari would look like a lab with that installed.
