I haven't found 18650 IMRs with higher mAh ratings than the AWs. If you find any, definitely let me know!

IA;

have you found that with the ProVari it is "easier" to find the sweet spot for a particular juice because you can change the voltage so easily and minutely?

I read somewhere there was an atty with a small cup and so by de-wicking it you could change flavors easily. I'm thinking that was the Cicso 306 or maybe the 510. What do you use? I'd like as close to a one size fits all in atty oHm to be able to run the gambit in voltages to find that sweet spot. Seems I read that 2.2 oHm has the most available voltages under the Provari.

To your first question, I do find it much easier to find my sweet spot. My three primary vapes are from TastyVapor and are waffles, bananas foster and "new" spiced apple cider. I like waffles and cider anywhere from 4.8-5.0v on a 2.5-3.0ohm carto. Bananas foster on the other hand tastes burnt to me that high. In a few clicks, I jus dial it back down to 4.0-4.3 depending on the carto. I am on my iPhone constantly and have a free "Ohm's Law" calculator on it. I know my sweet spot is 9-9.2W for waffles and cider but BF is about 7W. I just check the resistance of the carto I'm filling and dial in my voltage. If my mood or tastes change on the fly, I just make slight changes to dial it in.

For your second question, I don't use atomizers. I hate leaking and I hate dripping. When I did use attys, I stuck with 510's and I always debridged them. Since I used them on my Phidias, I left the wick in to hold some of the fed juice. All that I've worked with have a "cup" that the coil sits in. The only time I used 306's was on my Blu when I first started vaping.

All that said, when my new parts arrive (for my atty mod), I will no longer be using cartomizers or atomizers. The Chinese won't be getting anymore of my hard-earned money!

EDIT: yes, 2.2ohm cartos/attys give you the most options on the ProVari.

The problem with recommending magnets is that not everyone will have the same diameter magnet and the diameter required for each mod to short will be different. The odds of a magnet sliding is not "slim to none", it's actually pretty good. A simple bang on the side of the mod could cause it and relying on the pressure of a thin spring to hold it in place is pretty silly.

The results of a short depends on a number of factors. The battery protection (if any), the chemistry and the type of short. You may get a simple protection circuit cutoff, a large current dump with substantial heat (enough to destroy your mod) or worst case, an explosive failure.

Even if you are comfortable with bats, make sure you inspect your bats carefully each time for any wear of the wrapper on the positive edge. Even the smallest amount of wear that exposes the bat body would allow a magnet to short the bat and bypass the protection circuit completely.

Short version for fellow provari users: Don't do it.

The 18650 cap adds about 3/4". Still fits in my pocket.

BTW - comments about cheaping out on batteries is BS. I had the BDL long before the ProVari was on the market. I've used it plenty with the magnet and it is just fine. The chances of the magnet moving and keeping contact with the tube, battery and positive contact are slim to none. Especially with the end cap screwed on. My magnet is tiny. It couldn't touch all three points at once.

I swear, everytime the magnet question comes up, there's Nuck right behind me to shoot me down. LOL.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the magnet I use is about 1.5mm in diameter and comes from my Phidias. It isn't possible for the three contacts to be made at the same time.

And just to be more clear, I use it on an 18650 BDL IMR. It is the only one I have and I had it before I bought the PV. The rest are AW IMRs.

IA;

a few followup questions..

The Bananas Foster flavor I really want to try out. Can you describe it to me, that is, what flavors are you getting? More or less of? I know this is subjective. I've never ordered from TastyVapors although I've heard of them through ECF. I also would love to try a waffles flavor.

BTW;

finger is on the trigger, and slowly pulling it back. Target.....provari.

BF has a mellow banana flavor with rich cinnamon and caramel flavors (to me). The current version of waffles is not as good as their "old" version but it is still an everyday vape for me. I've tried tons of vendors and flavors but I always come back to TV.

I have the same magnets for my Phidias as well. Also found some from a vendor that were the same size so I bought another 5 of them to have on hand. The 18650's I have are AW but don't mention they are IMR. So that means they are not high drain right? They are the black ones with silver label and black/red writing and from Lighthound.

couple of posts/questions that i want to respond... 1.
I have some AW 18650 at 2600 mAh that I bought for the Phidias but in looking at them they don't say they are IMR or high drain so I'm guessing they are not. Got them from Lighthound as I remember.
I have a couple of those from Lighthound; great batts... i use them upside down in my Phid ... they won't work otherwise... (when i had an Ali'i, it was suggested to do that) they have flat top ... great batts long vape time..
they are protected... IMR hi drain - not.
These can be used and Nuck has posted as user and David has posted as builder... Nuck; yes (under certain conditions) and David; no ... but. nothing damaging just some adaptive things.

Someone asked about vape time with 18490 vs 18650.... if i was not at home with 3 ea. 18490's, i use 2 per day easily... to easily.
were i to leave home for more than a short trip i'd have to take the longer IMR for sure...

i get a couple hours out of the 18490; and that's vaping pretty heavy.

So IA;

If you change flavors throughout the day, do you have dedicated cartos to each flavor? I like the idea of cartos so I'm not confined to dripping but I do like the idea of being able to swap out flavors easily.

So what are you doing to be able to get rid of cartos and attys? What are these "parts" you speak of, hmmmmm?

Have you tried PureVapes juice? How do you compare it to TV juice?

What is the name of the iPhone app? I also have an iPhone.

Did you use a certain technique to de-bridge? I've never done this to an atty before. I've de-wicked but thats easy.

Hey guys!! so i JUST got my Provari in the mail like 10 minutes ago and im going to write this review as i unbox it.

1: Packaging. Provape does a VERY nice job at packaging their products, the box it came in is VERY sturdy and seems like it would take a car running it over to do any damage to the box itself. inside i found the provari neatly covered up in a TON of bubble wrap, the charger and batteries (they even included a 24mg sample bottle of fruit punch! ty provape :D )are all put neatly in a separate plastic baggy, everything is just very nicely done.

2: The Provari. Upon taking the Provari out of its packaging my jaw dropped, the pictures of the Provari on their website simply do not do this piece of art any justice at all. The build quality is phenomenal from the from the body to the threading to the button, i think you could probably drop this thing out of an airplane and it would go without so much as a scratch, the button isn't clicky but it does have a nice tension to the spring which in turn makes the button a pleasure to press(and i actually prefer the Provari's button to anything else i have tried) the threading on this beast is amazing, it screws on and off like butter and i suppose if you really wanted to you could use noalox but it is definitely not needed except for maybe keeping gunk out of the threading. the ability to switch between voltages and find you're sweet spot not only is it an amazing ability to be able to have but its also a breeze.

I want to thank Provape from the bottom of my heart for making such an amazing PV, and for helping me to find the one an only PV i will ever need, if you do not have one of these PLEASE do yourself a favor and get one because you are truely missing out

I may have missed some posts somewhere...Updating it next week? You mention it's not going to take that long (in relation to the three weeks I mentioned?) can you give an idea what the average has been lately?

Repent

Were planning on getting caught up in the next two weeks but I'll know more next week how the schedule is looking...
