Oh, my.

Would they even sell it to a woman, or would I have to change my name to Frank?

Ha! It's usually the women that comment on the MCM when I take it out with me, which absolutely encourages me to take it out with me more often. :)

If you're interested, they're sold by a guy with the handle matador here on ECF, and he's recently stated doing 26650 battery configurations as well:

I was watching tv last night and saw the designs for a new kind of "modular phone". First i've heard of it actually. Don't know if you completely understand what i mean, or maybe you do, but same could be done to a mod. Just take the top off and place a different component in it's place !. That would be cool.

There is such a thing:

Zenesis 2

Z2 Spec is an open source platform specification, and several other device manufacturers are already developing accessories that will be completely compatible with the full Zenesis 2 system. Third party developers are already developing dripping atomizers, bottom feeders and other exciting add-ons to this system, and others are building full PVs with the thread specs... all of these offer future compatibility and interchangeability as the system evolves. Manufacturers are welcome to request a print of the Z2 spec for use in their own devices.

Sorry for the tangent...back to topic. :)

I know this fanboyism is a small representation of the provari community.

I can agree but I wish the fanboys....and girls would have found me right off the bat.

When I came to the forum I was asking for something to use while I was working at my desk. I said I wanted long battery life and it to be able to accommodate a large tank. I had cig-a-likes when I arrived here.

I got all kinds of recommendations but it seems like like the ones that though I was describing a Provari got silenced. I went with a lot of things that were suggested and for one reason or another they didn't work out and ended up with boxes of stuff that could have bought a Provari many times over. The other funny part was I did say I was looking for a desk based unit and others would talk about things being too heavy. I wish more people would have suggested the Provari to me. It was the first items I was satisfied with.

I did come to this place saying I was seeking first a large solution, then a medium sized solution, then last the best small solution since I already had cig-a-likes. I also told people I wanted to avoid replacing things over and over and wanted something that would last. The Provari was what I was looking for but I didn't know it at the time.

Some might say the Provari is dated but it seems to have the right feature set for me. I use everything on it except I never turn off the led but I don't want anymore on it.

I ordered an eRoll today and hope it fits my small solution as well as the Provari meets my large solution.

I guess you love sarcasm...so do I.

I was far from sarcastic. I was playing along with the bashing game, sans comtempt or resentment certainly!

sar·casm
ˈsärˌkazəm/
noun
noun: sarcasm; plural noun: sarcasms

1.
the use of irony to mock or convey contempt.
"his voice, hardened by sarcasm, could not hide his resentment"
synonyms: derision, mockery, ridicule, scorn, sneering, scoffing; irony; cynicism

I do not have a problem with the device itself. It is a device that just works... It does what it advertises, just like the iphone (well the older ones anyways). The problem lies within the select few owners of the product that have to always advertise how great the product is and how it is the greatest thing to happen to vaping. How many create threads or hijack threads to air out how great they love their provaris. The countless threads of other people asking about a non provari product and getting bombarded with "you should get a provari". Many get defensive when people like other devices due to VW, stating that VW not needed. That in itself is a very debatable subject which I am sure many fanboys will backpedal on if any future releases of the provari comes with VW, and they will stand tall on their soapbox exclaiming how the greatest device ever got even better by offering VW which they felt was unnecessary.

I know this fanboyism is a small representation of the provari community. I have a lot of friends who vape off a provari. They are good people. The ones that voice their opinions the loudest, no matter how annoying it can be, gets heard. I apologize to the whole provari community for the select few in your clan that makes this product unbearable to me.

Oh MrStik, that saddens me. I don't consider myself a fangirl of the Provari, tho I do love using it. I also like all my other (many) mods, and in fact the Provi is not my favorite of the bunch. I'm sorry that you find the Provi unbearable because of the feeling you get from those whose opinions are a bit soapboxed.

Funny. I was going to say in my first post on this thread that the worst thing about the provari are the die hard users.

edit.
I didn't because.............I was afraid !. Pathetic right. I know what would have happened though so. It was the right call i think.

 So, you didn't say it?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but I wish the Provari had a more robust operating system like the eVic. For example, on the eVic you can view your remaining battery life as a *percentage*, you can change your voltage/wattage with a quick twist, and plenty of other options are available in the background and are really easy to navigate. Of course I also prefer that all non-mechanical mods have at least 3 inputs (eVic, VAMO) instead of just 1 input (Provari, SID).

Most threads are created to try and slam ProVari...thats when things get interesting. I've not seen many threads touting ProVari and everything else sucks. I see lots of threads where someone is looking for a device to upgrade. Someone suggests ProVari and all hell breaks loose. People love their ProVaris. It's ridiculous when someone says "Ï can buy a million Vamos"... go buy a million Vamos, I really don't care...but not 1 of them will perform as good as a ProVari. I've had a Vamo and I have a ProVari...I can compare them. Most of the folks knocking ProVari don't have a ProVari. It's always the same..."I used my buddy's ProVari and..." We'll keep sticking up for a really good American product with excellent service and you'll keep hating us for it. Thats o.k. As long as you're happy with what you're using, what's it really matter?

She won't let me see other mods and I wasn't expecting a heavy commitment when she moved it. I've always been attracted to broken-wing type of partners and that's just not her style. She isn't flashy, or the latest Hot New Toy, her strength is always being here for me, which I'm not used to.

What I don't like......

I got a purple mini - the ProVari purple doesn't match any accessories. Will have to get a silver or black one to rectify this.
Doesn't look good using a Hypertank without a beauty ring.
It's not self-cleaning. I actually have to use a Q-Tip to swab the little connection once a week.

Susan,
You can buy jwraps or go to serenitygear.net and get a very nice sleeve made of leather.(almost any color).
And that Q-Tip cleaning is just so annoying isn't it? Geez, and I have to do that at least ONCE a week.(or maybe it is just me)
;)

My main downfall on the provari is it is severly outdated. No adjustable air flow. No flush mounting. No adjustable pin. No adjustable wattage. They were the best thing out there but now the neglect by the maker has alowed them to be out featured by china.

Absolutely. I can't believe how outdated they are. They're like a freaking Model T, Alanis Morissette and the Boston Celtics all rolled up into a freaking mod.

I don't know how anyone would even consider using one. I'd be embarrassed to just put a battery in it, much less leave the house...

Oh snap. Where did I put my sarcasm font? It's here somewhere, I know it is.
