I rather talk about this...this is way more fun than health insurance. I am tired of hearing about the new mod or new carto. I want to read something that has more to do with how people feel about their vaping experience with a certain product. This thread is working as far as I am concerned...I received all the information needed to make up my mind.

The mere fact that so many people are responding tells me that the PROVARI is what I need to get.

Good for you on your decision!! No matter what you end up buying, I hope it does the trick for you!!!! Enjoy and vape on!!

Does that mean that I have to put on the ole coat & tie before I can properly use my Provari?

And you really must upgrade the juice bottles.

Its the same reason some HD riders frown on Asian bikes and some Asian bike riders think us Ducati riders are snobs. Im not a snob, i just love my Ducati more than i liked my Honda or my 3 HD products.

Ride what you want and vape what you want. Just don't try to tell me your Asian bike is a better value because none of them offer anything like my Ducati 1000DS. :D

I can't stress enough that the chart is just a starting point, from which you fine tune up or down until it tastes good to you. People sometimes skim over that part and start threads asking why their juice taste burnt when they are vaping where the chart says they should be.

I'm am currently happily vaping in the red zone with one of my devices, in rotation with one set on the low side of green. Additionally, according to some theories I should be able to set a device at the watts I like and forget it. That doesn't happen on my planet. The juice I'm vaping at almost 10 watts will burn in another device I use if set over 7.5 watts.
This this this. I'm currently vaping happily on the low side of the green (not even 5W!) and still getting loads of vapor. Other times I need more power. There are more factors involved than the charts suggest.

Sadly, despite all of the features, a ProVari doesn't automatically instill manners in it's owner.
When this feature is developed, I'd like to see it installed on all mods, even if it means adding some circuitry to mechs. ;)

Variable wattage allows for cruise control, essentially. No adjustments needed when switching tanks/clearos/attys. Once you learn your sweet spot, set it and forget it. It's just a convenience thing :) and only my opinion.

I bet Provape could make the best damn variable wattage mod on the market. As I said in my first comment (that you mentioned), I'm hoping they'll come out with one, and then I'll buy it.

I'm not anti-Provari by any means. I was raised by a machinist right here in the US, and grew up working in the family machine shop. I understand quality manufacturing and all that goes into it. I think Provape does a great thing for the vaping community. I guess my point was more toward people dissing China and spitting the word Chinese out like venom. There are machinists in China just like there are in the US. You can get GREAT products from China.

I suppose my mind always tends toward the geopolitics of the issue, rather than the devices themselves. If I derailed the thread with that, I apologize :)

As others have said, it really comes down to what any user can afford, and what works to keep them off analogs. That's the underlying point of all of this, right?

The cruise control comparison is more marketing. I have found that my sweat spot is very dependent on atty type. I can put a clearo on and set it to 8 watts, then throw a 510 atty on and need 12 watts. I adjust my Darwin as much as my provari.

So true concerning bikes. After owning several other makes I settled on Aprillia.

I just purchased a VAMO yesterday and I am not impressed at all. I have been using two configurations and there is no consistency with this mode. I click it 5 times and it does not go on. I have to do it twice. Then I hit the power button and sometimes it does not fire.

A known issue - they've made the timing on the button presses quite tight, and there may be some issues with the electronics going into a sleep mode. It's actually easier to turn it off than it is to turn it on. I just use 6 presses to turn on.

The misfires would be annoying if you get them all the time. Get in the habit of using a moderate positive pressure on the button and see how you go. I've had it happen to me a few times but it always seems to be when I have had my finger on one side of the button, or the way I'm holding it does not allow all of the finger pressure to apply to the button.

Vamos come out of many different factories and the main issues are quality control on the threads. If you've got good threads and it will take most ego devices like the mini protank and T3S etc then it's OK. Make sure you are in RMS mode otherwise the watts setting on AVG mode is going to seem a bit hot (about 1 volt too hot in many cases).

To answer Baditudes quesiton about power output, the Vamo V5 can do 5 amps output or 6 volts, but you will need to run it on two 18350 batteries to get there on most resistances. People complaining about inconsistent output as the battery flattens must be running low resistance coils at relatively high watts. 2.2 ohm coil at 6.5 watts is dead consistent right up until the last puff before it shuts off. The limit with one freshly charged 18650 is about 12 watts. To go higher you need two 18350s. It's all there in Phil Busardo's review of the V2.

Also, I sent an e-mail to the vendor about the 18350 and got no response. The vendor was tropical vaper whoever they are. ".......n the pusher man''

If you use genuine AW or Efest IMR batteries it should be fine. The main issues are usually with 18350 ICR protected or very poor quality batteries, but do give the battery contacts a wipe. Any dust or dirt on the contacts in the device or on the battery can cause problems.

It's funny how different people chose their mods. You know what was the last thing I worried about when buying my first ecig? Yup, volts and volts related topics :) I figured that if it's variable, I'll just dial it up or down till I like it.

Here is the list (ordered by importance) which narrowed down to the eVic: usb port, screen quality, battery mAh, menu system. It also has firmware? <clicks the buy button immediately>

Makes laugh when I think of it now :) But I have to admit it's good marketing right there, stuff that professional mod makers lack. They build stuff for the seasoned people (which are a small %) and lose out a lot of newcomers like me. What makes me really sad is that no high end tube mod has usb port. At the moment I don't care about the quality of the screen any more since I rarely get to see it or use the menus. Firmware updates are sortof useless when you have a chip limitation. But the usb charging? USB 3.0 provides 900 mA, downstream usb ports provide up to 1500 mA. An iPad usb charger provides 2100 mA, Nexus 7 charger 2000 mA. There is really no excuse not to have a usb charging port.

I think it's fair to say that the most common battery is the eGo type. That one also charges from USB.

I am already using the eVic to it's max power and I want more in a tube form and regulated. Nowhere I could find such mod. Is it only me in the whole wide world with this USB fixation? :)

If this was in a tube, that would be the perfect mod for me: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/469010-cricket-dna20d.html

I bought one myself as my first and so far only vaporizer. I did understand that there were much cheaper things to buy, but as someone who was spending $120 every month on cigarettes, the $180 for the Provari didn't seem like a big deal. I like all the things mentioned so far about being American made, durable, reliable, along with the fact that the voltage output is steady all the way through a charge, being able to increment the voltage in .1V increments to dial it in just where I like, and the ability to check the resistance of whatever I screw into it. At the beginning of my 4th week of vaping (this week) I have already made my own juices and started rebuilding coils, so I'm pretty sure I'll be in the black in a couple\few months.

I'm with you!!! I went from a cig2o to a nock off ego pass through to a ProVari and I could not be happier!
I also like that it's protected so if I happen to make a bad coil and it's grouding out or something, I don't fry my mod. It just kicks back a error code.

Let me start this comment off by saying I'm not telling anyone to go buy a ProVari, Now that that's out of the way.

I see lots of you saying you wish you could get one, And others going back and forth worried they might not like it.

Let me start by saying a ProVari owner knows the quality of a ProVari and can tell you they don't lose much value, and the Collectors Edition ones like the Zombie will even gain value, especially to a ProVari collector, (Yes some of us even collect them) not to mention a used ProVari has little risk since it can be sent back to ProVape for cheap repairs... So to sum it up you can always sell it.

Ok, now for the budget, I assume all of us here used to smoke, and we all know how expensive and depressing that was, because we missed out on nice things we wanted because of our stupid expensive smoking habit, I know I did, I can remember so many times I would spot something I wanted and have to remind myself I had to keep that $100 dollars for smokes.

My wife asked me why I hadn't ordered a Provari yet, after seeing me watching review after review about them, and even had the site bookmarked, and some pic's of other peoples nice setups.

I told her I didn't know how, after almost 20 years of always talking myself out of nice things, it had become just another part of my daily habit... sad huh? Well she told me I was a fool and ordered it for me, lol

So now I take my daily "Smoke" money and put it away, Just like I had never quit, Now I no longer stress over the nice things I want, Or the nice things that she wants. And when I need money it's there for the day to day things too (Bills) lol

I'm working on it, but as my wife says, "Don't you think you deserve it, after going so long without nice things" "after all you got off the cigars and have the money now to do it" ...

Wow, what a ramble that was... lol, Anyway, take that dough you used to blow on smokes and put it in the vape jar, You'll have one in no time... and if you hate it sell the damn thing... Get a chrome one with a blue led and I'll even buy it if you hate it, as that will be my next one, making three I will own!!!

There is no reason not to celebrate in the fact we overcame smoking and lengthened our lives, now lets start enjoying it...
(Not that any of you aren't enjoying life)... just sayin is all!!!

Vape On!!!

I am looking to buy the provari today. I need a few suggestions before I make the purchase.

I do not want to buy the kit...I rather buy individual components. I want to get the mini in black.

I want to see if I can save a few dollars:

I need to know what cartos I need to do everything possible on this device. I already have the smoktech 1.5dc which do not seem to do well over 4 volts. This is what is happening on the VAMO that I have. It just gets too hot.

I really want to vape at 4.5 to 6 volts with the hardest hit I can get. I do not use tanks or anything else except the smoktech shorties. Therefore, I do not need the tank and the charger. I guess I am concerned with the cartos.

Also, I might be interested in the extension cap. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also have a charger.
