because, frankly, the provari is outdated. And this isn't some hate coming from someone who never tried one. I owned one for 1.5 years. And I sold it off, got myself a zmax, which is, outside build quality aside, a much better device. VW is amazing, battery life is near twice as long, it requires less maintenance to keep running properly (I had to clean my contacts on my provari weekly or it would stop firing once the battery dropped below 3.7 volt. I have never cleaned the contacts in my zmax)
The best thing about the provari is the solid outside shell. But look inside, the circuit board is barely mounted. It is as prone to damage from drops as any Chinese VV/VW mod.
now with the dna 20 and kick out there, all the quality clones, and china stepping their build quality game up, the provari needs to catch up

btw, the warranty is no reason to buy a provari. You can get a 3 year warranty on a zmax that includes accidental damage for $17.99. and if you ask, square trade will give you 35% off bringing it to $11.70

Any ideas why so many Provaris are for sale lately in the classified section??? opinion??

It definitely NOT the quality. Those things are built like TANKS! I would imagine some folks simply did not have their expectations met since they are hyped a LOT here on ECF and elsewhere; the gent who explained why they are so expensive gave a detailed description of the process here on ECF....... EXCELLENT is the first word that came to mind when I read his post. Some folks may have had knee-jerk reactions and bought based on his excellent point by point description. It's not my Cup-O-Scotch - but if I were in the market for a mod I'd jump on Provari before any other. Others will of course disagree - but the reasons will again NOT BE quality OR Customer Service. Classifieds be damned.

laugh all you want. For the cost of a provari, I can have a sigeli zmax v5, and a kicked nzonic clone, both warrantied for 3 years including if I do something stupid and break them. and have money left over for a new RBA

I will, thank you. :)

Fixed it for you. ;-)

P.S., left out RBA's because I couldn't give two rat's patooties about rebuildables.

Second edit:

I trump your 3 year warranty with, uhm, I don't know, a lifetime warranty?

 This! Totally agree.

It all comes down to personal preferences and how you as an individual choose to place value. I own three Provari's, iTaste MVP, and a ZMax Mini. My Provari's get used daily 90% of the time because I feel they give me a better vaping experience. It's all because of the 800 Hz PWM chip and Accuset regulation.

The ZMax is what it is and does what it does. It uses the 33.3 Hz PWM chip (rattlesnake effect) which IMO makes a less satisfactory vaping experience. Not everyone notices the difference, and that's fine (sorry for your loss). For those that can notice the difference like myself, it's either a Provari or MVP for the smoother vape.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/488840-rattlesnake-effect-why-cheapo-vv-exception-itaste-mvp-dont-vape-same-provari-dna20d.html

I've done the rebuildable thing; not for me. If you don't mind all the tinkering and inconsistancy involved, you've chosen your own fate. I watch with amusement all the mechanical owners with their RDA's at my local vape shop...they are always adjusting their builds chasing I don't know what...but they are never satisfied with their builds for long. I just want to vape and not tinker all the time. I set up a cartotank and am good to go for 2 - 3 weeks without any maintanance involved other than the 20 seconds it takes to refill the tank. With just as much flavor as an RBA. I could care less about the cloud chasing aspect; I don't need to impress anyone but myself.

I guess I am in the minority here in that I have zero interest in rebuilding, messing around with wicks/cotton/wire, etc, etc. Nothing against the people who do it because it seems like a really good hobby. Just not for me. I stick with Protanks, they just work for me. I prefer mechanical mods just because I like the rugged simplicity, and their appearance. I only have one vv device (an SVD) and I pretty much never use it.

No opinions. Let's deal in facts. True facts.

The ProVari is an elite vaping device. Many vapers buy them thinking they can handle the raw power and vaping prowess it provides. They cannot.

So, they sell them to move on to latest fad; mechs, quad-coils, exotic wicks, etc. They burn their fingers on hot coils, fry their brains trying to figure out Ohms Law, and soon end up in institutions where they are never heard from again.

Survival of the fittest.
