That's my "go to" and favorite gauge for kanthal coils for all kinds of different atty's (most all the KFL variations, Skylines, Hastur, Doggystyle, Beserker, ERL's, etc. My 'standard' coil is 7 wraps, 2.5mm id for about 1.6Ωs.
I only use 30g with a 2.0mm is coil in the KFL2019s to help control the warmer vape from the small chambers and 28g w/ a 3.0mm id coil with the Skylines because of their unique juice control sleeve. Seems it's (for me anyway) easier to set them up with a bigger wick.
It was probably your posts that I read most recently about the 29. I don't really want to lower my ohm's, but wonder about the slightly thicker wire, and how it holds up.
