Hey'ya..........We traded the insta-pot thingy for a new magic gizmo that air fries, cooks rice, broils, steams, bakes, pressure cooks, etc. etc., all in one. And it is getting great use these days.

Yes, choosing a high stress time to quit vaping is a bit hard. But when Charlie pleaded with me (he's been reading all the scare articles that vaping is increasing the number of young people in the US who are being put on ventilators with Covid-19) to quit. So, I'm keeping him happy, at least through the pandemic. Whether the pain I'm going through will be beneficial is yet to be seen. And you betcha' the Provari's will be there a waiting if'n I need them!

Thanks for dropping in, have wondered how you were doing. Good luck with stopping vaping thing, keep some gear though. As someone who once quit smoking for over a year and a half, those nicotine urges can come out of nowhere down the road. All the best to you!

Hey y'all..........

Been ages since I said hey. Hope you're all doing well and staying safe and healthy in these frightening times. We're both doing fine. I'm working from home and Charlie's part time job is well, less than part time as retail stores are closed. So we're both home and keeping ourselves beyond well fed. They say half the population will come out of this better cooks and half will be heavier drinkers! I'm all about food, not alcohol, so we've had a blast cooking a lot lately. The kitties are massively enjoying having us home all the time and they're both healthy and happy.

At Charlie's pleading, I stopped vaping a couple weeks ago. Whether vaping is a factor in surviving Covid-19 or not, since I'm over 60, I'd rather take fewer risks should I get sick. I will say that not vaping is a mixed bag. I'm back to experiencing the joys of living in a "fog like state" (even with nicotine lozenges) that is akin to what it was like to quit the ciggies all those years ago. I'm coughing a bit in my second week, but I imagine that comes with quitting putting anything in my lungs other than air for more than a decade. My blood pressure is lower, which is a good thing. And I'm sleeping better, though I had to go on a CPAP machine about a year ago or face being divorced after years of snoring kept Charlie awake.

I still have all the Provape gear I had when I was a regular poster around these here parts. That includes 4 Radius, a Procyon and multiple Kabuki. Assuming I'm successful staying off vaping in the future, I may put the gear up for sale (including the coil building gear and associated tops you can build coils for), but I need to get through some time before I'd be willing to go there.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in say hey to all, with hopes everyone is staying healthy and safe these days.
Was just thinking about you the other day Sir Rod. Glad to hear all is well with you. Best if you don't smoke or vape so I wish you success. I'm sure it wont be easy so don't beat yourself up too bad one way or the other.

Thanks buddy. I remember well how the urges come out of nowhere and completely overtake you. Nicotine addiction is, as we all know POWERFUL beyond belief!

Hi, you sound like a well loved and remembered member but I am new to you.....

Have you considered Swedish snus instead? I can't vape at work and it is SO much better than nic lozenges. I can go 12 hours not thinking about vaping and it does contain some minor alkaloids. Yes, you can order direct from Sweden but you can also get a tin to try from many gas stations for like 2--3 bucks.

It is confusingly labelled "American General Snus" but it is the real deal from Sweden. I am not gonna lie I think the stuff you can get in the US is rather gag inducing at first (you can get much better flavors from Sweden and stuff) and it has an approved PTMI or whatever it's called.

I hated nicotine gum and lozenges, and I would say pick the flavor that seems least inoffensive to you and give it like 3 tries, your tastebuds will adjust.

I just hate to see folks suffering with really high priced nic lozenges when they don't have to.

I have experienced ZERO side effects from snus and when I'm vaping less, it does appear my lungs are happier.

Either way good luck and gosh don't give up any gear quite yet,

Anna

Hi and nice to meet you Anna! I was a regular poster during the Provape days for a long time.

I appreciate the suggestion, but if I'm going to quit, my goal is to get off nicotine addiction altogether and snus would, at least for me, be transferring the addiction to another tobacco product. Yes, getting off nicotine is painful, but this too shall pass. At least I hope it does.

Again, nice to meet you!

Have you guys discovered this amazing father and daughter team? Since Covid-19, they started putting out videos. The daughter is 15 years old. They are simply amazing and uplifting. They may not have been famous before the pandemic, but they certainly will be now.
