Have never seen this person do analysis before, but she's covering a vocal that always makes an impression on me - I don't think I've ever seen singing that so clearly evidences the emotion the song is supposed to portray.

Thanks for posting that. I'm getting annoyed at myself for forgetting some of these astounding songs. I gotta confess I'm not big on analysis of the arts (though I agree she does it very well), so went to a straight performance. Just wonderful.
I didn't do a deep dive, but it appears she is a classically trained opera singer and vocal coach. It's interesting to watch her reactions. She impresses me in that she can approve of music way outside her expertise and experience since she approaches each song as to what a human voice can provide.

So, I was working 9 to 5 and paying no attention to music, other than my old favorites. My two boys loved Dire Straights. I never listened, except in the background when I was cooking or having a drink before dinner, so didn't pay any attention.
