... love my Omega's, Ollech & Wajs, dfreemont's and others ... but when I do wear a watch, this is my workhorse. A 9mm thin Titanium Casio Lineage. But it lives mostly on a window sill where sunshine keeps the 100 day solar battery charged and the atomic clock in Boulder Colorado keeps radio controlled time synced and calibrated each night. So thin and light weight I absolutely forget I'm wearing it. Sapphire crystal won't scratch. So accurate I always know precisely when right now is ... Wait, lemme check ... oh look, it's time to vape ... and spend a late afternoon outside with the miscreants. and all I really needed was a round tuit. Thanks guys. Have a great evening :) ~~~

EDIT: The Casio Lineage is also available in Stainless Steel ... twice the weight and half the cost. This Titanium one pictured was for the European market. I think it may be available in Titanium in the states now too if you look around.

Mamma mia, Mr. Hobbs. I've said it before and will say it again. Your pics are EXTRAORDINARY! I simply love them. No matter what your vision was, I'd say you have an eye for capture that's around a 99 on a scale of 1 to 10. Just beautiful. <wub>

(DPL, I'm sending you my camera for the smash session.)

Oooooooooooo, pretties! Very nice, D. Madame Crest suits Sir Gus purrrrfectly. The shiny Provi 2 is GORGEOUS!!!

And I love your (sideways) pic a lot! But since my neck is now hurting, I thought I'd fix it for ya. ;)

I'll take the 1959 coin. It was a good year.
Christmas 1959 lower right end of table. Mrs Seay (pronounced sea) had been teaching 1st grade for a lot longer than forever. Bless her heart. Don't remember Mrs Seay's first name ... don't think it was Ernest though.

Built in Detroit. I never took and posted pics of these before because some guy in our midst (who has since disappeared) a while back scoffed at the notion of "cheap" Shinola watches. Well, I love Detroit Rock City and am proud of these watches. Staff at Henry Ford Hospital in downtown Detroit always get a kick when I show them off and tell them they were built 3 blocks from the hospital (they all acknowledge they know that). I liked mine so much, I ordered Jackie the female version. Lifetime Warranty.

Your photos are stunning! You are such an artist. I love the middle one because I create miniature rooms and make all the furniture and that set up looks like it could be a miniature room. Gorgeous!

But the I love the energy that comes through all the Mason photos too!

Weird. When this was originally posted it was right side up for me. Now that you straightened it up it is sideways for me!

Come to think of it, her name might have been "Missy". Momma always seemed to know who I was talking about whenever I told her about Ms Seay ... okay that was bad. :looks around for the drum thingy:

Thank you Bea !!! Mason ... well, Mason is a dual registered U.K.C. and ADBA American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT). DNA on file. And NO, I have no intentions of ever breeding him.

His bloodline is pure Colby top and bottom, no outs or crosses, documented and traceable all the way back to the late 19th century when John Colby started his stewardship of the APBT breed. John's son, Lou, took over the Colby dogs following his return from WWII. Lou passed away in 2011. For over 100 years only two men raised and bred THE Colby family dogs in Newburyport MA. Mason is from a litter "bred in memory of Lou Colby". The litter was whelped two months after Lou Colby passed away and the breeding had had Lou's blessing. I was a moderator on a popular APBT dog forum and someone hooked me up with one of the last of Lou's pups.

Thing is, owning Mason is like owning a piece of history. Mason's conformation and temperament isn't exactly what judges are looking for in the modern APBT, but he definitely does resemble, and his temperament definitely is that of many of the dogs that started the APBT breed off. Besides that, Mason never really cared for the show ring and I found out early on. It wasn't fun for him, so I stopped showing him before he championed out. It meant nothing to Mason LOL. I never intended to campaign him anyway. All I ever wanted was a family pet and companion for which the Colby dogs are renowned. He surely is a grand champion at that !!! :)

There aren't ever any U.K.C. sanctioned events anywhere near us, so I only showed him at ADBA point shows, mostly in Chipley Florida and one event in Birmingham Alabama. He did okay, just I could tell it wasn't fun for him and meant nothing to him. He'd just as rather stayed at home with me and Sugar, playing in the backyard. I'm okay with that too :)

We're thinking about getting a boxer in a year or so when we will be staying home. Want to name a male Duke. The last dog that lived in this house belonged to my Grandparents and was a boxer named Duke. Not sure what to name female. Maybe our last name as Jackie and I call each other that anyway.

And once again you shared some wonderful photos.

Quite a history and thanks for sharing it! I bet @clnire would find it interesting. She has champion Terburans and her attitude and philosophy about showing is similar to yours. Maybe she'll see your post.

Oh, and BTW I love that his ears are not cropped. People do that to make their dogs look fierce. Insane! Besides it's a very painful surgery because there are so many nerves and blood vessels in dog ears. I'm thankful that the veterinary hospital where I worked for years before I retired didn't do that.

As I'm sure you know, pits have such a bad rep because of the idiots who in- and over-breed them, or use them for dog fights. We had several well bred pits as patients at that hospital that were sweethearts.

Hi - nothing to see here. I'm just wandering around. I hope everyone is well.

Vilifying breeds is cyclical. Remember when Dobermans then German Sheppards got vilified? I think next came came the Rottweiler

It's not the breed, it's the owners that create the problem.

My daughter loves pits. Truthfully I was terrified because I bought into the media reports. Some may think the Dog Whisperer is a hokey show but he changed my mind about all breeds, not just pits.

He trains the owners not so much the dogs. In training the owner the dog responds better.

There have been instances where the owner and dog are not a good match. Rarely is a dog not trainable. It does happen though. He generally keeps them on his ranch when he comes across those troubled dogs.
