Like I say, I have a pair of AW's, one is black the other silver. They were bought at the same time from the same place. So RTD (possibly ProVape) are counterfeiters if Baditude is correct.
Not following your stretch at all. He didn't say black sticker = counterfeit. In 2014 he simply said they'd switched to different stickers. You haven't bought batteries from ProVape in a good while. In fact, you can't remember where you got those batteries and the ones you got may have been older (at least 3+ yrs) stock. Are yours 700 or 800 mAH? I'm willing to bet they're 700 ... "old"

I got all of my hologram AW's from RTD within the last twenty-four months. I write the date purchased on the battery and cover it with clear tape.
I have one older button top AW with a black background. I got it from RTD but hadn't started writing the dates on the batteries. I know they are rather old. They still charge and hold OK, I use them in a REO.

Ha! All this sticker talk made me look, I still have ONE black background AW 18490 cell. I used to have a bunch of them and even had some 18650,s, all of which have been long retired...I've only got three or four of the 700 Mah 350's left, prolly gonna rotate them out next bonfire I have LOL.

They started out at $220 plus and I just couldn't see them kicking my Melitta pour over to the curb. But then I just saw them at $175 and pulled the trigger. I have a 10 cup Technivorm and love LOVE it !!! Had it for almost 20 years now. Used in my offices/workcenters in the Navy. It's a beast. ... but can't or shouldn't drink 10 cups a day anymore. Shoot.
Oh and someone PLEASE talk me out of getting a Dyson V8 cordless stick vac. Almost got in the Jeep for a drive to Lowes a minute ago ... and they still aren't closed yet LOL. I already have two Dyson vacs ... an upright AND a cannister. Both run as good today as when I bought them in about 2003-2005. Those dang V8 stick vacs though ... they sure are proud of them. Cost almost as much as a new in box ProVari Radius on the bay ... almost. Looked at Shark too but I'm a Dyson guy. They've never let me down.

Hey, last year Santa got me a Shark! I actually like it. My wife asked what I wanted and I said honey, I really don't want or need anything...so I said, like in the add...everybody wants a Shark, that's all I need... That V8 stick does look like a cool vac though...
I have purchased a dozen 18490’s from RTD in four different orders over the last months. All are hologram. I inquired with them if they still sold ones with the black border.
They didn’t answer if they still sold them. The rep just said AW switched to hologram “ a few years ago” to combat counterfeits. I’m no expert, but if they are still shipping the black border ones, they aren’t fake but are at least 2 years old.
I also received some “18500’s” from a vendor with the purchase of a Provari. The 18500’s are known counterfeits, but they had the hologram.I compared the 18500’s with the real 18490’s with a magnifying glass. You can see the differences in the logo. Can’t with my old eyes without magnification.

... and just got back from Lowes with the stoopid Dyson V8 Animal stick vac. Animal because well, I have animals and I'm tired of thinking about getting one all the time. Reg $499 ... on sale + Lowes military discount ... $391 and out the door. Ho Ho Ho

That Shark IonFlex 2x REALLY had me looking hard. I think maybe the only reason I went with Dyson is because I've never had a problem with them, customer service is great in case I do and there are less filters to wash on the Dyson. On paper, I could give a list of pluses for the Shark too though ... easily. I think I'd be happy with either. Well, as happy as a man can get over a stick vac LOL.
I never looked at stick vacs till I Saw the adds recently for that Dyson you got
with three cats, there are a lot of ghost turds floating about, I tried to sweep today, and quickly realized I was just stirring up more than I was picking up 
now that lithium packs have become commonplace, I have a want for a cordless vac for them quick once overs.I don't ever really notice shed from Mason, single coat short hairs and all ... now my double coated dog, Sugar ... she blows her coat at least twice a year and sometimes I think she does it constantly just to pi55 me off. Love Sugar to death but I'll NEVER have another double coated house dog EVER again ... maybe. Quick once overs are where it's at to stay on top of it.
