The springs on P3s are the most volatile aspects of a P3. Minor changes can make big differences. The wiggy spring is happier on your satin P3 than it is on your black P3. It really boils down to that. A new spring would be advised or at least stretch the current spring out just a tad. Or just leave well enough alone and be happy the swap worked.
Yeh, I plan to leave them like they are now.
Thanks.

The battery meter on the p3 isn’t designed as a static display. It gives you a window into the batterys performance. It may be your battery that is fluctuating. It may be showing you battery sag.

Give it a good cleaning. If it continues replace the battery with a new one.

P3’s will just plain cut out if the circuitry determines that the battery in use is not up to snuff.

They will hit empty at a significantly higher reading if the battery in use is not within parameters up to, and including, just not working at all.

The fluctuating meter drove some people crazy, when the p3 first came out.

They changed the resolution on the meter, so it isn’t as noticable, but it is still operating the same. Sometimes you just notice it.

I take it as a heads up to keep an eye on that particular battery.

The same goes for the Radius. If your Radius hits empty unexpectedly, it probably is getting to be time to replace the battery with a new one.

It was happening on any lg hg2 battery I tried.
Would using a button top batt help ?
Also, how do you clean them ?

I'd say it's the spring, @Terry Koontz since I assume your batteries are the same in both. That, or you need to clean/stretch the spring and/or replace it. I ordered some springs for the 2.5 and the p3 because I figured at some point I would need them, and my P3's battery resistance doesn't fluctuate, but until I replaced the spring, it would only use about 2/3 of my battery. I read (possibly on this thread or maybe elsewhere) that sometimes an update can help but I wasn't willing to get into updates. On mine, it was my spring.

Congrats on your Canada find, it looks sick :) The good kind of "sick".

I’d use flat tops, given a choice, but button tops work too.

To clean, get some 99% anhydrous alcohol and some q tips.

Clean all contact surfaces, including the threads, the spring, and the shiney contact inside, let it evaporate, and you are good to go.

Yeh, I really don’t want to send it for an update.
Thanks.
Did you ever try the Umbavape eliquid ?

What do you use for squeaky threads ?

Thought maybe button top would give a tighter fit.

I did, @Terry Koontz and I really liked it. The price was right enough that I bought a bunch for my husband as he is now on his "quit attempt."

Although, he did come home with TWO tins of American Spirit Tobacco.... That equals TWO cartons. If I'd known he was going to do THAT, I would not have handed him the WTA so SOON.

I was super ......, thought about flushing them, then thought about tobacco addiction, and decided that it would be unhelpful.

He entered, saying, "I'm still planning to quit."
He didn't appreciate my response, "Um, that looks like PLANNING to NOT quit."
"You're stressing me out."
"Rolled eyes."

I really like it though, and thank you for the suggestion :) I still prefer Aroma's I think but Umba is a close second but I cannot afford it at this time :)

I use DeoxIT red cleaner to improve connectivity.

DeoxIT gold is a lubricant that does for squeaky threads and improves connectivity.

I don’t bother with the gold, but I probably should.

The red gives a little lubrication.

The best would be to use the red, clean it off, and then apply gold.

They make small bottles with brush applicator, also with needle applicators.

Nah, he watched me smoke myself blue for 18 months with pneumonia and did little nagging.

We just have a "no nag" rule in our household. Even the kid these days....

He'll quit or not, die or not, whatever. I used to wish to die before the husband, but I also have a feeling I could make it as a widow. The older I get, the more I appreciate chillness in my house.... Since he has a big race to finish the insulation under the house, to close out our insurance claim, I just.... Decided to be patient.

If only nagging worked, but my whole family of origin is living proof that it doesn't (my mom was like the biggest nagger of all time.... She got my dad to quit smoking, but she also got a divorce).
