If one can afford the Dani, it's highly unlikely they'll regret the purchase. The workmanship alone is worth the price, and the performance is extraordinary. Best battery management I've ever encountered.

Does anyone need a Dani? No. Absolutely not.

But they usually come with chocolates (if ordered from CDV), which makes it even sweeter (pun intended)!

Or for batmoths....

I don't think the smell would bother you on another floor. I keep the mothballs in a steamer trunk and never smell them until I open it up. I dunno though, I feel for you.
Thanks. At this point, we think it's the chimney and that pest control guy needs to get over here and do his job. His saving grace, Jackie and I both tell him this, he answers his cell every time I call...
That's better then 99% piece of crap contractors around here.

a mini costing 171.63 pound does not 300 dollars make...

oh, the great DiCoDes misconception...

171.63 Pound sterling equals
218.69 United States Dollars

ps further research of all of the non temp control functions would have you running to buy one!!!

imho, jim
I was going by the price on CDV ... 205.95 Pound sterling equals 262.12 USD + whatever shipping from the UK is.

AHhhhhh ... that's right Jim. Either forgot about that or figured that was the price without Vat.
Only after you create an account and sign in is vat removed from the price you see.

So there is an added tax for Vat? How much would be paid in total for that Dani?
Like Turf said, if you create an account on CDV, the price is changed lower to reflect no Vat tax ... a tax Europeans have to pay but not U.S. customers. SOoooo ...
171.63 British pound sterling
+ 15.95 British pound sterling for shipping
= 187.58 British pound sterling total for the Dani Mini
That comes out to 238.12 U.S. dollars
HOWEVER ... CDV accepts PayPal and that is my preferred method of payment, especially as an extra buffer between me and overseas transactions online. SOoooo ... to my credit card through PayPal, the total charge is slightly greater than the standard rate conversion and comes out to 246.89 USD ... technically closer to 200 than 300 LOL.

And the one I have coming is Black. Shoot

You'd think they would post the non VAT price alongside the VAT price. Specifically not to discourage people like Hobbs when they are shopping around.

@GeekyGeezer ... do you think a Dani is smoother than say a ProVari? Have you used the same atomizer on BOTH a ProVari and a Dani and compared ... seat of the pants?

Sorry for the delay. I knew it wouldn't be a quick answer so I was going to reply later and then got occupied doing other things until I forgot completely.

My instant, no need to think about it, answer was Yes and Yes. But I've found few things as personalized as vaping. Everybody has slightly (or massive) different preferences from juice to power levels to wood vs metal, to RTA vs RDA -- and on and on and on. So I hesitated because just because I could immediately feel a difference has little to do with whether you would also.

I see that you were concerned about the granularity of the power adjustment. That's a conversation I've had with some other experienced vapers. They also thought that was totally unworkable. But in all honesty, I have yet to feel the need for a small adjustment. If I'm trying to compensate for a slowly gunking coil, or just a too hot/cold vape it usually takes 3-5 watts for me to see a difference. Of course, our equipment is different so I'm not surprised you've said that doesn't apply to you.

I can almost guarantee though, that coming from a DNA or Yihi background your instant impression of the Dicodes menu will be that you hate it. It is a very different logic system and I will admit that I fought it for hours when I got my first Dani. In my case, after some great help from Keith at Creme de Vape the light bulb finally blinked on. Since then, I continue to be amazed at how quickly and easily adjustments can be made - including some not available at all on the others with the best part being not having to connect to a computer. Ever.

My little guy is sick. When he doesn't eat, you know he isn't well. Probably trip to vet tomorrow unless he perks up. This is a baby pic, he is getting old now.

VERY well stated, GG, and you've got that "Quick Help" sheet that Keith created for the menu, I believe. I have a copy too, in case it's needed.

One issue on the menu is that the Mini, with the three button design, is a lot easier than the tubes, which only have one. I still manage both, because they truly are extraordinary devices, but the three buttons are NICE.

Like Provari before them, most vapers will adjust quickly to the menu. If THIS group knows about one thing, it's menus that might not be the most popular in the industry. ;)

We, the ProVarinati, can handle it. ;) :vapor:

@rosesense ... Do y'all do a Low Country Boil in your part of South GA?

Pic from 9-10 years ago (at the beach and semi-sunburned) but I still make a Low Country Boil the same way

    62405792_852446588444595_5000125678176174080_n.jpg

1 BIG stock pot to hold it all
4 pounds small red potatoes (cut into quarters)
    5 quarts water
1 (3-ounce) bag of crab boil seasoning
2-3 pounds cooked smoked link sausage (cut 1-3 inches long)
6 ears of corn (cut pieces about 3-4 inches long)
4 pounds large fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
(sometimes I'll also add a tablespoon or so of Old Bay Seasoning too)

Bring water and seasonings to a boil, add potatoes and cover. Cook for 10 minutes and add sausage. Return to boil and cook for an additional 5 minutes and add corn on the cob. Return to boil and cook for an additional 3 minutes and add shrimp. Cook roughly two final minutes or until shrimp is pink/orange like color all over and begins to float. But be quick with the shrimp once they begin to float or they will get rubbery. Drain. Serves up to 6.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instead of using crab boil seasoning ... which is the easy way out:
This is what I use when making a huge batch in 2 1/2 gallons of water, so calculate for the amount you will be using. About half if cooking the 5 quart version above, but adjust to taste.
    1/3 cup salt
1/3 cup lemon juice (fresh or concentrated)
    1/3 cup garlic powder
    1/3 cup onion powder
    1/4 cup Old Bay Seasoning
    1/4 cup chili powder
    1 tablespoon ground thyme
    1 tablespoon paprika
    For a little bite, add:
    1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
    2 tablespoons black pepper
    1 tablespoon red pepper flakes

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Extra Notes:
Mix water and seasoning. Stir well to dissolve seasonings and sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours to fully release flavors. If you are in a rush, simmer it gently for 15 minutes.

Crab boil, 2 teaspoons per quart of water

1/2 lb. smoked link sausage per person
1/2 lb. Raw shrimp in shell per person
    3 Red potatoes per person
1 ear of corn per person

Optional Ingredients if you want to adulterate it LOL:
    Whole mushrooms
1 Carrot cut into 4ths per person
2 Small onions per person whole or quarters depending on size
1/2 Lemon squeezed and tossed in per 2 quarts of water
    1 can (12 ounces) beer

I really think you will like it, and sense you just do wattage (or power) mode, I think you will find it easy. The one I have in my hand has a Kayfun prime with a 2.1 OHM coil, it is set to 7.5 watts at the moment, sometimes it goes up to 8. :|

I also ordered one yesterday, the blue one along with a charger. I have wanted to try the charger for a while now, I figure sense I only have the mini, once I put the correct insert in I most likely will never change it. It shipped today. :)
