Haha.
But really, have you given any thought to pheromone therapy? I've lived where there were legions of red and gray squirrels, and they never got anywhere near my stuff.
Something about you that's attracting them. Perhaps being a squirrel in your last life. Or a nut. LOL. Wish you well gin.
Yeah, no kidding and thanks. I posted a rant last week about how they got under my hood and tore apart my hood insulation - again. After re-reading it, I deleted it due to the fact it looked kind of silly, me going on about all out war on squirrels - again . I got lax and lazy and a couple of them came back but one of them has since died. :thumb:
Again today, Jackie was outside with Steel. He was sitting on the porch watching one prance around in front of him until she said, "Squirrel!" At that, Steel took a flying leap off the porch and chased him up a tree. Hey, he's getting there, he's only three and a half months old... God bless him.
Btw, I put chunks of Irish Spring soap under the hood and Jackie got me a big spray bottle of, "Vehicle Protection Rodent Defense" to spray the wires with so we'll see how it goes.

My poor Kitty Stella has a weird disease where her immune system is attacking her gums from the plaque on her teeth, (granular cell stomatitis). Today she had all of her teeth except the fangs removed...she is still wobbly on her feet and a little drunk from the anesthesia, it was the only hope of giving her a healthy pain free life. The next week or so are going to be a little tough for her. Hoping I made the right decision with allowing this procedure to be performed...

I had never heard of that, it sounds like you made the right decision. Wouldn't that limit her diet considerably? Prayers for the kitty. :nun:

The Efest red is a decent battery.
I have had a couple of 18350s for a few years and they are still going strong.

You're welcome.
Thank you!Thank you! Thank you! You have just put half a dozen provari back in rotation!! I was trying to convince myself this eh pro mod 101was an acceptable alternate. While I'm glad I found it, it's not a provari!!:toast::vapor::headbang:

Yeah, this was a new thing to me too, but it is a thing. It was heartbreaking watching her try to eat this morning, she would take a few licks of food and then shake her hear head flicking food everywhere...the only way I can pill her is to chop her pills into tiny piec s and hide them in her food. She must have got a few of them down because she shiwed her usual ravenous appetite after a while, and was bouncing off of my shins meowing for more, so I stirred up the food and pill fragments so she would eat them . Her breath is no longer stinky, so getting them rotten teeth yanked out was a good thing, and she actually seems to be more comfortable, even with the swelling and sutured gums...I think she is going to have a much better life quality from now forward. It was a very tough decision that I labored with for some time, the alternative was a grim one...

She would never touch dry food for us, even if she was hungry, yesterday morning she was starving because she hadn't really eaten anything for 36 hours. She gobbled down the other cats dry food lol. Some cats with this condition stop eating because it is so painful when food gets in their teeth.

I wondered how you all were doing. I think she should be OK in a few days, especially when the stitches start to come out. Did the vet send any painkillers home with you? They do seem to perk up after they get over the surgery and the infection goes away.

If Stella prefers the can food, you could try some of the Hills AD from the vet. I think it smells like vienna sausages, but never tasted it myself. The cats usually enjoy it straight or mixed with warm water to make a soup. You can also try some all meat baby food if you get the ones for infants and make sure they don't have any onion or onion powder. I usually got the chicken ones, but sometimes found the lamb was better for someone that was needing a stronger smelling food to encourage them to eat. My cats don't like nuked food, so if I need to warm something up, I soak the container in hottest tap water to take the chill off without cooking it.

I had a cat with maybe the same thing or at least very similar. I couldn't afford the surgery to have all his teeth pulled, so they pulled the worst offenders. Then I ended uo having to give him a daily dose of clyndamycin. He wouldn't eat canned food, I would soak his dry food in chicken broth. He eventually developed other nonrelated problems and stopped eating cat food altogether. I used to buy the giant bags of frozen chicken leg quarters and cook those up for him. He also loved yogurt and scrambled eggs. My husband used to make fun of me for cooking real food for a cat. I would do it again in a heartbeat. He was an awesome cat, I miss him.

I've been warming her food with the hot water method for her since we got her, today she isn't interested in eating, she tried a little bit and walked away. Might need to bring her back to the vet tomorrow if there isn't any improvement...it's a new clinic about a mile from us, and it's a 24/7 emergency center as well. Thanks for those other suggestions.

If you end up taking her back to the vet, you might ask about some SubQ fluids and whether they could give her an antibiotic injection in case she isn't eating the food with the pills mixed in. It's more expensive for the shots, but at least you know the meds are all in her and not spit out in some dark corner of the house. There is something magical about the fluids when they are feeling poorly.

My cats were always feeling a lot better after getting the rotten teeth and abscesses cleaned out. When I had stitches in my mouth, I was always miserable until they were finally removed, so YMMV.

They might be able to do that. I can't remember if any of mine had one. I know my ferals were given some longer acting meds by injection when they had to be treated for injuries and couldn't be handled if they weren't under anesthesia. A pain med might have been part of the treatment, but I know they had antibiotics by injection. Convenia is a long-acting antibiotic, but pretty expensive for the shot (around $50 here) vs a bottle of clavamox (around $20).

There aren't as many pain meds that are safe for cats. My vet has always given me a few syringes post surgery that had some kind of painkiller in them. If I remember correctly, they were fast absorbing, so if it hit their mouth, they got the dose. The cats seemed to think they were nasty, but I don't know how much of it was flavor and how much was the weird numbing effect.
