1992 Chevy Beretta for me, then graduated to a 1999 Monte Carlo. Currently have my favorite, 2007 Mustang. I've told my boys to bury me in that car.
I loved all my cars.
I guess most people do - thus, so many songs about cars, lol.
None of these are my actual vehicles, but the years and colors are all ALMOST accurate.
First two were bought from Dad (72 Nova) and Mom (76 nova).
My '72 was "primer gray" - and I did add a single racing stripe, lol.
It did NOT have badass wheels, but sometimes, I'd leave the studded snow tires on - so when I stomped the gas and spun them, I'd throw sparks.
The Mazda needed tires and a alignment badly, but my boss who owned it thought it was something more serious, so he threw the pink slip into the pot at a poker game. I drove it for a couple years!

I wanted a Challenger for a while. Got the Mustang instead and have zero regrets. You know what I hate to admit I really wanted for a while is a Charger.
One of my favorite foster grandparents I worked with was like the SWEETEST man. He adopted all the ones he could and like, always kept a couple beds open so he could pay for everything.
One day this gunmetal grey Charger pulled up with like all the windows tinted BLACK and I do mean black, like "illegal rapper black," and I was finishing a cigarette at the time and I was like, "Nuuuh, don't got to worry about DIS one," only the window rolled down and it was my adorable grandpa with like a Cheshire cat grin. He said, "Hey... this is my OTHER car, Anna."
I was like, "I won't tell if you won't." LOL. I loved that dude so much.
My kiddo really wanted one and I really wanted to get him one, honestly, but he was 16. He got a late 90s Dodge Plymouth instead, we went for the "TONS of metal protection route" because quite frankly, that works better in my opinion for teen boys than like, airbags.
Yep, he totaled it. He still misses it.

That was nice, I got a CD of Chet and Mark that I must have listened to a hundred times. They play really well off of each other, you can tell they were having a blast playing each other's songs, I always get a smile when I listen to that CD.
I lusted after a 1969 Cuda or Challenger (same car). Then they came out with the Challengers again and they are beauts. So is the price.I lusted after a Monte Carlo for many years, never managed to get one...
Today was nice, had a 23 mile ride and there were lots of folks out on the trails. This weekend I logged 69 miles. In my mind today I couldn't help notice that we are solidly into the time of the long shadows...

My Dad had a Saab Story when I was a kid. Had to mix oil in with the gas. Some kid at the gas station didn't believe it so he didn't put the oil in. Saab Story died never to live again.Mine was one of these:

Wish I still had it.
Found it without an engine. Stuck the slant 4 in it, instead of the V4.
It had a freewheeling transmission.
Best. Snow. Car. Ever.
It rusted out in the wheel wells at the transaxle.
Still heartbroken.

Yep, what a blast.Yeah, the generation before mine had two stroke engines. Great in the frozen tundra.
Oh, and the teeny tiny windshield wipers would lift, spin, and end up on the hood in high winds.
Good times.
