@stols001 Well, I guess you're right. Called the pest control guy today as they didn't call yesterday with a plan like they said they would. Said he had no plan other than to burn the house down.

What about this: Ultrasonic Bat Repellent - Get Rid Of Bats In 72 Hours Or It's FREE

I read that you should hang mylar balloon strips and mothballs to deter them but the places where they are getting in have to be sealed. Exterminators here in GA do deal with them.

Bats are federally protected and in some states as well. Who knew?

None of the mods I own are much, if any, over 3 years old and none NEED replacing. Maybe 3 years is a lifetime in the vape world, but I think the Dani/mini has been out about 3 years ... maybe I should hold off pulling the trigger and wait and see what's next from Dicodes.
    [/thinking out loud]

I see the Dicodes Bat Light in the sky and must leap into action... :D

I think a lot depends on whether you sense any sort of difference between your Provari things and your dna things. To me, the Provari was always smoother than the DNA, though Evolv does a great job. The Dicodes is like that. Plus it is made incredibly well, both in machining and materials. None of mine have any wear or finish loss in the years I've had them.

The Dani Box itself is a little more than 3 years old as I remember, but the Mini was only released a few months ago and every batch that Dicodes releases still sells out quickly. And though Dicodes has released a couple of new things lately, that is definitely not something they are known for. I can't remember anything new they came out with in the 3 years between the Dani and the Mini - maybe a small tweak to one of their tube mods.

As for the charger, I'd recommend saving your money. While it is Pro Vape level of construction, safety, and quality I don't use mine much. I think their insistence on belt and suspenders level of safety hurts it just like it hurt Pro Vape. It's just always taken significantly longer to charge a battery than any of my external chargers. Cool and bulletproof, but sort of a PITA to actually use.

... if the Dani Mini was king of smooth vape, I'd prolly get it for that attribute alone. While I'm sure it's smooth, I don't think it can be deemed king in that category. I think mech devices might hold that crown. Mechs are the smoothest with that direct DC output to the coil, I've read. Chip makers tried to emulate mech smoothness by manipulating waveform output. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ProVari chips were rated at 800MHz and that's why ProVari gave us a sizzle effect at the driptip rather than a rattlesnake. There's only so much chip makers can do with that waveform and I think they've all just about nailed it.

So about the only thing that leaves, is additional functions and capabilities which I don't need ... i don't think. If a device is regulated, capable of power mode ... and I'm talking low power mode, 3.6-3.8V or about 7-9W, I'm good to go. Don't think I need to spend $400 for that. Not sure what, if anything, beyond the power mode requirement, a Dani Mini might do for me. Pride of ownership might be all.

FWIW, here's a snip from a post I saw on reddit regarding boards. I've not done any investigation into this area, so I've been just basing my opinion on seat of the pants. But this guy seems to have some insight.

"The Evolv boards use an 800mhz DC signal, very fast, right? And 8bit ADC sampling for resistance. Enter Dicodes; remember that 800hz DC signal? Let's make that 2khz AC (2.5x quicker), remember that 8bit ADC sampling? Make that 16bit ADC. Remember that 85% efficiency? Make that 95%"

It's on the internets, so it must be true, right? :D Dunno. But that's a massive increase in frequency which should be noticeably smoother.

Good post GG !!! And I agree. Dicodes hasn't brought something remarkably different to the table for some time. In fact, I THINK the ONLY difference between the Dani and the Dani Mini is the form factor and technology is exactly the same. Can they make it smaller? Do they need to? What if anything will they move on to?

These are gorgeous, and they look unused, show us pix of the mods you actually vape on.
HA Deemac :D ... none are very old. All get used. I just don't seem to find a niche for beaters LOL. Took me about 2 weeks to dial in all the variables with the RTAs ... coil, wick, airflow, driptip, power. I have back ups for back ups, like most vapers do and I had to find the optimal combination of vaporizer parts and which mods those vaporizers like best to be squared up on. Those five pictured are hitting on all cylinders and checking all the boxes. Any one of them could be my all day every day one and only. I shouldn't mess with ANYTHING ... but ya know I will LOL.

Well, that's the second post I've read today and from two different sources about Dicodes boards output being AC rather than DC. Still ... is it worth several hundred dollars for me to find out if that makes a noticeable difference in low power mode? ... dunno. For now I just keep reading and searching for real world comparisons. Haven't found enough hands on comparisons to convince me to pull the trigger on a Mini ... yet.

@GeekyGeezer ... do you think a Dani is smoother than say a ProVari? Have you used the same atomizer on BOTH a ProVari and a Dani and compared ... seat of the pants?

Maybe overthinking it. Either get a Dani Mini or don't.
Sometimes I'm forgetful, but found the more I quit thinking, the less I seem to forget. Not exactly sure how it works that way like that. Besides in the case of the Dani Mini, maybe all I need to remember is ignorance is bliss ... not going to think about it ... I'll forget.

Yeah, we'd have to have a .... load of mothballs as it's a whole 3rd floor. Besides, if you're going to seal the area up, why the need for the balloons and mothballs?
Not sure about that electronic repellent, no outlets up there. Still, I'm sending the link to Jackie so we can discuss it. Thanks!

Okay, took a couple of pics of my damaged ProVaris.

Had to get the light just right for this scratch in the Zencote of my P3 GMZ to show up. Disclaimer: I bought this P3 along with a Nautilus P3 off the bay a couple of years ago ... it came with the scratch. Wasn't shocked. It was pointed out in the bay ad.

Even with the light just right, can't see the scratch in the skin of this 60W Radius, but can see it in person. Disclaimer: Bought this Radius off ECF classifieds a little over a year ago as a backup to my 40W Radius. It came with the scratch. Wasn't shocked, the seller noted it in the ad.

Nope LOL ... would have if I hadn't already known about it though DOH !!!

I'm the same way with everything from vape gear to pocket knives to firearms etc etc ... and tools ... have a hard time misusing them and maybe even working most of them hard.

I would use the balloons and moth balls as a deterrent while you are ridding the attic of them and sealing the places up where they enter.

Mothballs are fairly cheap and they are so pungent you could space them out quite a bit.

I put my vape bank on ProVari's and Reos, both serve a niche, and both seem to last way beyond normal expectations...as vape things go. Something about the direct current of battery, switch, juice bottle, just punches my ticket on a daily basis...I started out with an Ego type battery, and got used to the gradual decline in the power delivery, and the way the vape subtly changes...that is why to me the Reos mods just seem to work for me, they are a comfortable reliable imperfect thing, that just keeps on ticking.

My ProVari's deliver consistency, vape to vape, throughout their battery life, and they seem at least to me to be pretty efficient at using the available power from them cells in a safe way...I like that a LOT!...would still love to someday maybe try a dicodes mod, but cannot justify parting with them Benjamin's to do so...

Yeah, and besides that, your posts don't rub people the wrong way and make them angry.
Yeah, but what's nice about this thread is there ain't no making people angry (that I can recall) and no rubbing people the wrong way. Only rubbing people the right way.
