Took the 521 mini tab apart to see if I could adjust it somehow to accommodate the KFL19. Nope. It is what it is. Will have to do as KAS suggested and build the KFL19 on the mod. Dang shame. The tab is a more stable work surface.

EDIT: Well well ... just put the 521 tab back together after trying to tighten things up internally around the 510 connector as much as I could and NOW ... the KFL19 works on the tab !!! ... but for how long ... I didn't tighten things up much and likely won't take much wear on the center pin of the tab to lose connection again. I'll enjoy it while I can LOL

This is probably a silly question, but have you tried backing out the 510 screw a small amount? If yours is like all the other Kayfuns I've used, it is an adjustable pin. I've had to do that occasionally as the 510 threads themselves were fine but the center pin contact didn't protrude enough to make a good connection. Sometimes it took 1/4 turn or less, sometimes as much as 1/2 turn.

But I have to admit I'm just being theoretical here; I don't have a KFL19 and my 521 Tab is the original, larger model.

Thanks muchly Hobbs. I knew about the button top requirement, but didn't even think of that extra extender :(

There are some Ti extension rings, and some extension caps on e-bay right now, the caps are not polished and the rings would not match quite right but it would work.:|

@GeekyGeezer ... EXCELLENT idea. Thank you for your consideration. Sadly, the KFL19 does not have an adjustable 510 screw. Instead, on the KFL19 ... where a 510 adjustable screw WOULD be is a slotted head nylon plug to control airflow in the KFL19. It's a different beast than most tanks.

EDIT: Oh, the slotted head nylon plug doesn't extend past the end of the 510 threads nor interfere with electrical connectivity. The plug screws up in there past the end of the 510 thread, to control airflow only.

@Bronze ... how far above the deck airflow is your coil on the KFL19? I build 30ga Kanthal on 2mm and the BOTTOM of my coil is about even with the TOP of the coil leg capture screws.

I vape flavorless, so that is not a consideration. But have you experimented with coil height in the KFL19 and if so, what have you experienced? My goal is the smoothest vape possible and just wondering if coil height would even much matter one way or the other in that regard with the KFL19. I think mod power and wicking finesse would likely matter more so than reasonable coil height but was wondering. Thoughts?

Yep @Wayneo, the P3 came with 2 extender sections from ProVape, just so it could use an 18650 if desired. The same principle would apply to the Mini. Just use 2 extender sections. When doing mod maintenance and cleaning threads for best electrical conductivity after extended use, the extender section threads need to be looked at / cleaned too.

Resistance is where it should be. Coil and Wick have settled in. 521 Mini Tab works with the KFL19 ... for now.
Volume and Density ... good. Cool 7W vape ... good. Calling it sorted finally. Now I'm a happy camper .... [looks around for my sleeping bag]

@Wayneo : if you can find one of those "Twins" things, that works and is just one adapter. I have one, and it's kinda fun, but I prefer the two extensions option (uniformed width).

Or one extension ring plus one extension cap. Any or all of these options are fine.

Never seen one of those Twins things. Maybe I did, but it just didn't blow my skirt up. Dunno. Was it a ProVape release? I like the looks of the extension cap. A more uniform look and maybe makes the length a hair shorter (?) ... I think. The extension cap just doesn't seem to be quite as stable, relatively speaking, as an extension sleeve section and end cap when standing on end. Maybe a ProVari shouldn't be stood on end anyhow LOL ... just asking to be accidentally tipped over.

The Twins were third party '"aftermarket " (for lack of a better term), and were done by the folks who made the Hippo (topcap). Well made stuff.

The extension caps are slightly less stable but better looking (for my taste), and the stability difference is very minor. If one were to select what they liked best (aesthetically), they'd be safe & happy (in all probability).

That’s how I have it too Hobbs. I use a 2mm stainless coil in temp control. Of course, everyone has their own preferences and it can vary from atty to atty. This rule seems to apply across all Kayfuns for me. I find I lose flavor when it’s too high and get a more burned flavor when too low (plus a higher risk of juice entering the airway). I’m sure once you experiment you will find your sweet spot.

While the original KFLs were very easy to build, these later versions (KFM3, Prime, and KFL19) are more finicky . The biggest issue is juice finding its way in the airway. With these smaller Kayfun decks it is important to keep the wick tails as far away from the center as you can get them. Length is also critical. Too short or too long and you’ll easily starve the wick. It has to touch the deck floor but it can’t be overstuffed. Once you dial it in it becomes habit.

Well, if she ever knocked her stand over, I could see it. ;)

In seriousness though, I do hope everyone out that way is okay. In speaking with Kat the past two days, depending on where someone is, things may have gotten significantly unpleasant. :(
