It was on the main page of the Associated Press site this morning.

I guess I'm all gloom and doom today but it struck me that the piece was focused on dangerous synthetic weed chems which will make you hallucinate or worse, but generally won't kill the user. It avoided the uproar that is collecting clicks on hundreds of sites.

It would have been oh so easy to connect this story to the lethal oils that ARE killing people, but the author didn't make the effort.

Or was told not to...

I always laughed at tin foil hats and conspiracy nuts, but things seem to be different now.
Look into the Alice in wonderland technique, it is being used masterfully in the war against vaping...

This is going to be my Christmas present this year :) can't wait to ride this funky machine .
So, being new to cycling, I have no idea what this is nor why you'd want it for Christmas. Elaborate?

It is a steel frame soft tail, if you look under the seat there is a type of elastomer shock there. It is an eleven speed drivetrain with a single cog on the crank. It just seems like a really cool bike, and since I sold my mountain bike I miss having a flat bar bike. Also, my buddy who runs a local bike shop is getting me a really killer deal on it ;) He has had his eye on this model, and wants to see one in person. Since getting serious about riding again, I have become aware of the benefits of modern construction in bikes...This one is also a 2018 model holdover...

As for why a Christmas present, there really isn't anything I need or want, other than a new bike :)

I started to write "the worst thing" but realized there are so many illogical and harmful things going on that it's impossible to pick a winner.

But what's really frustrating for me is that there doesn't seem to be a clear way to counter this crazy campaign. I am definitely not a one issue voter but if there is any decision to be made, a representative who might support us would get my vote. But I DON"T KNOW WHO THAT WOULD BE!

The blitzkrieg assault on public opinion is so deep and so strong right now I don't think there's a single politician who'd publically oppose the half truths, lies, and general madness. The best outcome I've seen so far is them simply not making any comment - which right now is a sad, but real, victory

Personal emails to all my reps resulted in replies; some pretty quick and some which took weeks. ALL of them were variations on "thanks for staying in touch" after a cut and paste of some sort of "vaping kills" and "we must save the children" boilerplate. I would seriously think that if anyone even read them, it was the most junior aide or unpaid intern.

Add in the fact that two of the replies were word-for-word exactly the same but came from two different House Representatives. We're coming up on an election, which always has politicians going into overdrive in pandering to any warm body they think might vote for them. Still, no one seems to care and that's depressing.

As others have mentioned, I think we'll all still be able to vape but life for us is going to be very different.
That's interesting about your writing to your pols.
I (in Massachusetts, where a formerly seemingly free market Republican governor, banned all sales of any vaping products) wrote to all my reps using the boilerplate from CASAA, and most did reply with standard BS. My local state congressional rep actually replied saying she was concerned about the questionable blanket ban and the affect it would have on small (vaping shops, convenience stores) businesses.
Equally amazing to me, the local newspaper had an editorial this past weekend saying the governor went way beyond what he should have, and that it was not only hurting small businesses, but it was intruding on personal liberties. What a surprise they both were.

Not sure which of those is your new bike. But, I'm reminded of 3 things. One is the bike I bought for $30 from my neighbor who was leaving town cost $500 when new. Second, is when I asked my cycling son (not on my payroll) how much he paid for his sleek looking bike and he replied "you don't want to know." Third, when I went to the bike shop to buy a helmet which cost more than my bike and I looked around at the bikes on the floor, and thought they cost more than my car is worth.

I felt the same way when I was looking for a bike to start riding again, I was at a loss because all i saw was very expensive stuff that seemed totally alien to my understanding, and cheap Wallmart bikes. So I got a couple old used ones and fixed them up. Took me about a year to go through the weeds and find some stuff in my price range and want/need capabilities. Stuff changed a lot since the '80's when I got out of cycling.

@kas122461
you have both the dani box mini and the taifun box mod right?

I just have the Dani Box Mini's, my timing was always off for the Taifun's, plus I think the Taifun's were a bit more expensive then the Dani's were. I just stuck with those, currently have 4 of them, I am just missing the Red and Silver ones. :|

I'm kind of leaning into the thought of getting another mod and hesitating between those too;
i don't like the dani design and really like the taifun design but not sure it's worth the extra money so i wanted to compare both height and width to maybe justify it.

alright,i did a little research:
dani mini:
Width: 42mm
Length: 77mm
Depth: 24mm

Taifun:
Width: 40mm
Length: 81mm
Depth: 25mm

I'm a big Taifun fan and have bought a few of their tanks. I still enjoy a GTII daily. So I was pretty interested when they hooked up with Dicodes.

But thinking about it being around $100 more than a Dani Box, and a rectangle with sharp edges no longer feels right to me after using the naturally curved Dicodes - I never seriously considered one.
