One thing for sure, those albums catapulted them into super stardom. They likely would never have seen that had they kept to their first two records. Not enuf metalheads in those days.

I was never big fans of either but their early stuff wasn’t bad. But Kevin Cronin and Steve Perry went opera and that was the end of them. Styx the same way.Times, there were a'changin'....
I'll say this much. I saw them early (II) and up through The Game. Probably six times in all. They never stopped absolutely ROCKING a stage. Even the silly stuff came off as hard rockers during a show.
I don't think I bought anything from either. They weren't high on my list either, but music hits different ears in different ways, so I always just changed the station.
