    I'll confess that I'm bored by social commentary, especially when it's mixed with the arts.
    But, that was a terrific song.
    Indeed. And Fish was the best frontman.
    I believe social and political commentary should be a function of the arts. Be bored with it if you will, but consider Woody Guthrie, Tom Morello, Bob Dylan et al. The photography of Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus or Walker Evans. The Arts (writ large) take from the social fabric of our world and present it to us, either raw, or lightly sauteed with their spin (ache)

    Blackmore lived in Stamford for quite a few years. He used to show up at a little bar named Rapson's fairly often, and sometimes he'd step in and play with whatever band was playing that night. Most of the time though, he just listened and drank (like the rest of us).

    Linda Blair was a semi-regular there too, back in her big partying days.
