questions about filling your own carts. PG vs VG

Sorry that I am a noob to all this, and am posting multiple threads, but I have some general questions. I've noticed through smoking the Menthol tobacco flavored 18mg 10%vg 90% pg juice from Vixen Vapors, that it hits much more smoothly than that of the bloog menthol, the taste isn't quite as flavorful, but it seems like it doesn't dehydrate me quite as much. I am liking this much more, and my only real question is what is the difference between these two? I really have no idea of the whole PG VG fiasco, and I've read a little into it before posting, but I'm still not too sure... Sorry to seem uneducated on the matter

Also I've noticed, I filled a blank, with the condom method, filled it up about halfway, the dripped about 5 drops on top of it. It looked really saturated but I've been vaping it on and off for a half an hour now and the polyfill is starting to look a little puffy? I am assuming that when it looks puffy/almost dried about its time to refill, but I am still getting a good amount of flavor. I don't want to burn the cart out, so I'm just wondering if this is normal. Thanks guys.

Relax ZM, you're overthinking things.

You don't have to watch the filler to know when your carto is running low, you will notice a big drop in both flavor and vapor when you are getting dry.

I think that PG dryes you out much more than VG does.. i got flaky skin and other issues... including chestpains on PG. All has gone away on the VG.. Sadly TH diminishes a bit, but then gives you a smoother experience.. also produces alot more vapor... not that that is nescessary with horiz cartos..

I worry too much about VG. PG has a known medical track record, it's used in vaporized inhalers, it's used in fog machines, you can inject it directly into your bloodstream (it's used as a carrier for certain IV drugs)...I just trust it more.

That said, it can dry you out. For me it was bad for about two weeks, then got a lot better to where I don't seem to get as thirsty now. And I remember analogs making me thirsty when I smoked a lot, so no big difference.

I hear a few drops of vodka (or was it grain?) will give you your throat hit back. It should also thin the VG out a little so it will work better in the MaxxFussion cartos.

Oh yeah, I wasn't suggesting you should "grin and bear it" or anything. You may even be allergic to PG. I just question our use of VG, and don't feel like it's had the rigorous testing PG has.

Another suggestion: drink more water. Most of us don't drink what we should anyway, so drinking a bit more won't hurt!

I keep water bottles throughout the house, so there's always one available when I get thirsty.

oh i know.. just wanted to elaborate... well my vg base liquid is sold at the pharmacy, for vaping. That puts me more at ease.. even though they also sell nic gum and stuff that gives you sideeffect... no choice really..

Pure grain alcohol(PGA)=Everclear is the best thing to cut VG with, it doesn't have the extra garbage that vodka contains(sugars), it is less likely to jam your coil with junk, and it helps the VG flow so much better. Buy a nip size(it will last you forever) at the store and add a few drops to 1 ml of pure vg juice, BIG difference in wickability. I'm still using my 2 ohm coil custom maxxfusion fillerless carto so I just vape 100% vg boba's bounty, but if you have filler go the everclear method.
